How do I forward a message in the messages app? iPhone 11 on iOS 14.2

Edit: Guys, I know how to find the option to forward a message. The problem is that there is no send button in the popup. The only send button is the regular one in the bottom right, and that does nothing.

I want to forward an image from one sms contact to another, but I can't. I get as far as choosing which contact to send the message to, and then I can proceed no further. The cancel button is presented nicely, but hitting the regular send button does nothing. Going back or locking the phone cancels the operation. I can only assume this is a bug, but I figure I should confirm my competence first here. Anyone else have this problem or find a workaround?

With Voiceover on, swipe down on the message that you want to forward until you come to the "More" option. Activate the "More" option. In the dialog that comes up you will see an action to "Forward" the message.

Hope that helpsl.

As I said, I already did that. I can't actually send it. There is no send button. The regular send button is there near the bottom, but pressing that does nothing.

Yes, I can believe that you have trouble forwarding a message. This process seems very flakey but I can get it to work more than half the time (which, admittedly, isn't great).

Sometimes I can easily find the Send button and the mesage gets forwarded properly. Other times I look for the Send button but only see a long, long list of other suggested contacts after I added the one contact which I wanted to add. I don't think I have ever had this work when trying to forward to multiple contacts. I have only been able to forward to one contact at a time.

I have been using the FlickType keyboard and had assumed that was the problem. But I suspect the problem is more widespread.

Unfortunately I don't have any idea as to why it works sometimes and not others.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

  1. Enter the conversation.
  2. Swipe up until you hear More…
  3. At the bottom right, tap Forward in the tool bar.
  4. The To: field appears. Enter the recipients name or select from Contacts.
  5. Once all recipients have been entered, tap send.
