Looking for Feedback - Choice Based Audio Drama

My business partner and I have just begun prototyping a choice-based audio drama, we’re pretty new to the game accessibility community and were hoping for some pointers, and possibly some testers! We’re attempting to create a framework that allows us to develop multiple episodes, and possibly multiple seasons using the same gameplay systems.
The mechanic we’ve currently prototyped is based on choices presented to the player in audio that correspond with the left and right stereo channels, with left and right buttons on the player's mobile device that control which choice the player will make.
We’d love to hear any feedback you have on this concept, and what you would want out of a choice based audio drama (in terms of gameplay, story, choices, characters, world, genre, etc.)
Also if you’re interested in testing our game sometime down the line please send me a PM with your details and I’ll get back to you.
Also, any Australians out here in the community, if you’re in Melbourne we’d love to meet up with you and get a coffee, we’re looking for local user testers to get feedback from!

if you want to get into contact with me personally, email evilneth@gmail.com or sent me a PM on twitter @evilneth

Thanks everyone! You all seem like a lovely bunch from my brief period of lurking!

This sounds cool and I'd be willing to beta test!

And I would want something different. Too many monster and shooting games are out there. I suggest a story of life or like a life sim. The character moves in to a neighbor-hood, builds a house and starts off from there. I could email you with story details if you like.

I would have to agree. Most audio games are about fighting and conquering. Why not an audio game where a person tries to make a life for himself and/or his family. Why not a lifelike story for a change. You can maybe make your character have children or other fun little things. and I understand that there are not huge companies committed to making audio games specifically for the blind, but I feel that we need more variety in our audio gaming community.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd beta test that

As someone who both loves listening to and producing audio drama, this is rather interesting. I'd be happy to discuss this further and will PM you. I'm curious what ideas you may have.

since I’ve lost my vision, I realized how much I’m starting to miss simple slice of life games and dating simulators. I’m probably in a very small minority over here but gosh darn it if I don’t miss playing “dream daddy“ and “mystic messenger“, Or something similar to “the Stanley parable“ or “jazzpunk“, I am also a big fan of the humour in portal 2”.

so that’s probably my two cents, but really just do what you’re passionate about! The more love put into an audio game the more epic they tend to be. Voice actors, realistic sound effects, background music, things to really immerse the player in the story in the world with its unique characters.

I’d also like to ask something, though I’m pretty ignorant about anything programming so tell me to bugger off if you feel like it :-)
In the future would there be a possibility of moving this game to smart assistants like Amazon Alexa? I have very little motor function So i’ve noticed quite a few accessible action games are too hard for me to play. I just bought one of the speakers and have been playing around with it a lot! Though I’m sure something like that would take a heck of a lot of time.

Anyways that’s all! Always super excited to see a new game popping up on here. I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with, and definitely reach out to me if you’re in need of extra test subjects! I hope you have a wonderful Halloween 💀🎃👻🍬

Games for the ladies seem to be running a little thin don’t they? I agree, would love a little slice of life game or some cute guys to try and swoon…
Who knows ;)

Remember the game Dream Phone? it was a game where you had a toy telephone or something like that, and you'd call these people from specific cards. they'd say something to the room at large, and then, the speakerphone would turn off, and the person would tell the player something in private. it was back in the '80s, so I thought it sounded cool/played it a bit as a kid.
