Keyboard Assignment keys to run Shortcut Script Command

I use a bluetooth keyboard with my iPad Pro. I like to open my apps like the mail with a keyboard shortcut. I checked the Shortcuts app, and there seems to be a possibility to create one. I found one already created for opening blank Pages document, I added the required actions and run the command from the app to make sure it is working. Then I checked the commands section in VO to assign keyboard shortcut to run the script. I assigned VO+CMD+P and confirmed to use this shortcut as it is already assigned to another command. I ran the script using the assigned shortcut and nothing happens. I checked again the Shortcuts app and ran the script frm the Run button and it worked. Still with the assigned keyboard shortcut it does not Any idea why this hapens?
