Perform Using A Single Finger
iKaossilator uses the unique X-Y interface made famous by Korg’s entire Kaoss Line, including the original hand-held KAOSSILATOR. Create melodies and phrases simply by stroking, tapping, or rubbing the touch screen with your finger; no musical knowledge is required.

Bright, Colorful Visual Effects
iKaossilator is also focused on its graphic design, which shows up beautifully on the iPhone's high-quality display. The visual effects on the iPhone's display move along with your performance and add excitement. These bold, colorful graphics provide an exciting performance experience.

150 Diverse Sounds Covering Many Musical Styles
Use the 150 built-in sounds to perform and produce a broad range of dance music styles including hip-hop, house, techno, dubstep, nu-disco, and electro. Enjoy the synth leads and synth bass sounds you expect from a synthesizer, as well as acoustic sounds that simulate piano or guitar chords, even the popular sound effects used by DJs. The drum sounds let you play and manipulate various patterns simply by moving your finger.

Loop Sequencer
The built-in loop sequencer lets you layer up to five musical parts. To create a track, simply assign a loop such as synth, bass, chords, sound effects, or drums to each part. Fifty loops created by professional musicians are built-in to help you get started quickly. In addition to its track-making capabilities, this loop sequencer is also a great feature for live performance. The Mix Play feature makes it easy to enjoy live remixing; you can switch seamlessly to another loop or extract a specific part from another loop while the playback continues.

Accessibility Comments

The app is somewhat laggy with VoiceOver enabled, however everything I have tried thus far works perfectly. Like Apple's GarageBand, it is not necessary to disable speech while creating with this app, giving VoiceOver users more flexibility than ever to make and create loops like anybody else. If something is playing and you use VoiceOver to navigate the screen, you will notice the currently playing item decrease in sound quality, lag slightly, VoiceOver will speak, then it will go back to normal. Truely that is my only complaint with this app but do not think there is a good way round it, as many other apps I have used suffer from this as well.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

I contacted Korg via twitter the day I heard this app was in the Appstore and they promised and delivered by the next update, VoiceOver accessibility and truely I couldn't ask for a quicker response. The change from 95% unuseable with VoiceOver to so far as I can tell, 100% useability makes this app certainly worth the price tag.

I really love the idea of the iKaossilator. I will get it soon. I heard about the iELECTRIBE in an email. This is an app made specificlyfor the iPad. It is bassed off the Korg RE1. It is some what simular to the EMX1 but doesn't have the synthesizer part and has all synthesized drums instead of sampled drums as well. I sure hope it can be adapted to fit the smaller screen and made to work with VoiceOver as well. When I heard about the iELECTRIBE, I wanted it so bad because it reminded me so much of the EMX1. I used to have it till it got stolen late last year. This app is so simular, it even has the 16 buttons at the bottom of the app to create your beats, just like the physical machine. The only thing that may not work is the fact that there are nobs on there that VO may not be able to turn. Maybe, just maybe though, Just like the iKAossilator, it can be both adapted for the smaller screen and VoiceOver accessible. Thank you Aundre for making Korg aware of the VO problem. I tried to do the same with the iELECTRIBE, but, I didn't get anywhere, Maybe someone else will have better luck. Well, that's it for now, Talk soon.

This app continues to be one of my favorites and it just got a bit more useful. What's New in Version 2.2.0 • Display size of iPhone 5 is completely supported • Background Audio support allows to play other music apps • iCloud data backup • "Audiobus” enables audio streaming between iOS Musical Instrument Apps • A few bugs have also been addressed, improving operational stability

This is still one of my favorite music making apps, and this version adds the following: • Adds a new option to turn off the corner light animation • Fixes a crash issue that may occur when opening the shared loop list • A few bugs have also been addressed, improving operational stability

I really have fun with this app. I would recommend it except for one thing. It is really hard to actually make music on it because of the latency. There is a delay when tapping or moving to change notes on the pad. That delay really throws me off. Still, cord I chaos later is a lot of fun. The layout is easy to learn. There's lots of really good sounds.

Anybody knows if it's possible to change the pan and volume for each individual loop pad?

Hi there.
I had a quick question about this app. i had it for a while now, and was wondering on how to rename loops. I made a few pretty cool loops, but don't have a clew on how to rename them. They still just have the default loop names. When i go and listen to loops that are shared by others, they seem to be able to rename their loops, before they upload it.
Question is, is renaming loops accessible, and if it is, how do i go about doing this?
Thanks in advance.
