Help With ErnCon?

Hi, all! I'm always on the hunt for playable real-time games...text-based can be fun, but I love games that are a little more immersive and engaging (Papa Sangre, etc.) Anyway, I've seen a few people talk about playing ErnCon, and since it's free, I downloaded it...problem is, I can't figure out what on earth I'm supposed to do. I've figured out that if I touch somewhere in the lower right quadrant of the screen, I get a constant sound effect (maybe this is the joystick making my ship move?) The tutorial said "Excellent!" so I guess I must have done something right. Then it told me to shoot asteroids..I found a control right above the joystick(?) that I think is firing weapons...but that's all I've got. Any advice from you starfighter pilot veterans would be greatly appreciated by this clueless cadet. Thanks! ~ JWB

this looks interesting but how is this supposed to work with voiceover?

I don't think it is, per se. I've seen users say that they play it without VO (probably just using the game's own audio cues, etc.) - I just can't figure out how the control scheme works, how to interpret the audio cues, etc.

That sound effect you heard was your gun firing. The lower right corner of the screen is for shooting. The lower left corner of the screen is where your joystick is. As long as you start by touching the lower left corner, you can drag the joystick anywhere you wanted to go. Your know that you're moving because the positions of the sounds around you, and even of your own ship if it's making a noise, change accordingly. Up above the firing button in the Loray and corner there are two squares, stacked one on top of the other. Those are your second and third weapons. The left of the square that is your secondary weapon, just above the firing button, is your afterburners. Hold this button down until you hear the afterburner noise repeat over and over. This means you're moving at maximum speed. It also means you're very hard target to hit, but it also means it'll be a little bit harder for you to get other targets. The best mission to Phaedon is the fighter mission You want able to really shoot astroids on purpose because they don't make noise. The same goes for Finding jams. All the astroid shooting and Jim finding you do will be on purpose. Well, that's not completely true, because you can hear a noise if you're gone Hits i am KenWDowney. n asteroid. Unfortunately, Van Nuys sounds exactly the same as a ship being hit, so the difference is that the Estrid doesn't fireback. Add me if your icon game Center.
