I just got my bluetooth keyboard.
I'm from the UK. I can recommend the TECKNET bluetooth keyboard: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00YNKO7F2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a bit fiddley to pare, you have to look in the other paired devices heading of the bluetooth settings to find it, after turning it on and then holding down the pare button for a couple seconds, but once it's pared it's fine.
The backspace key is small but it's fine if you want to type a message quickly.
OH, as far as I know; you can't connect multiple devices to it but that's not a problem for me.
Apple bluetooth keyboard
Hi Trey,
Do check the Apple Bluetooth keyboards. I believe they have a model with num pad.Ofcourse you will not be able to pair it with more than 1 ios device at a time.
BlueTooth Keyboard Recommendations
Howdy: I am a big fan of the Logitech K380 keyboard. While it does not have a number keypad (I don't need one for what I do), it does support three separate Bluetooth connections. Also, the keys on which you will type are large with concave surfaces, making them a joy to type on. Moreover, there is a physical on/off switch, which makes it easy to know whether the keyboard is powered on or off. The price is right, too. Around $40 U.S.
There's one issue with my keyboard.
When I pare it with my IPhone, I can't type on the touch screen keyboard, but as soon as I unpare it, the touch screen keyboard comes back. I'm able to type normaly on the keyboard though but there's a tiny lag but honestly it's nice to type on.
I don't mind using the touch screen when out and about but at home, i'll deffinetly use my keyboard.
Showing the virtual keyboard.
My old Apple keyboard had a button on the top right that would show the virtual keyboard. I now have an unknown brand of Bluetooth keyboard that has a button in the same place but doesn't do anything even when it's set to iOS Mode. It's very frustrating when I needthe The virtual keyboard for some reason. I have to turn it off.
One thing I don't like about the newer Apple keyboards is that they have a non-user replaceable built-in battery. I would prefer to have my own rechargeable batteries that I can replace. However, I'm not so sure the other brands of keyboards work as smoothly with iOS. Not that my first Apple keyboard was all that hot. It had a tendency to go to sleep after to three seconds of not typing after I upgraded my phone to iPhone SE first generation.
I kept hoping an update would fix it but that didn't happen so I gave it away to somebody who doesn't seem to have a problem with it. So, not only do I have to worry about compatibility I also have to worry about whether something actually works for me.
I don't mind turning my keyboard off.
but agree that it's frustrating.
