The Enacfire G20 Truly Wireless Earbuds: It is Scary How Good These Are!!!

Preliminaries and Pricing

First of all, I was going to do this review next week, but right now these earbuds are on sale in the United States for $45.99. In Canada, they are 106 Canadian dollars, and in the UK, they are £49.99.

I heard a different pair of these earbuds reviewed at the beginning of last week. They sounded good, but there were features missing that turned me off from them, namely no volume control on the earbuds. However, I searched for other earbuds by the same company and found these. This is one of two reviews of Enacfire earbuds that I will be posting, and the best priced of the two, although not by much.

Inside the Box

These come packaged in a very sturdy box that screams quality. Inside, you'll get extra pairs of eartips to help you achieve the best fit, the user manual in several languages, a Micro USB cable, and the earbuds already inside the charging case. The case itself feels very premium with a leather-like material on the top and bottom and plastic sides. It is a very small case that will easily fit in a pocket with no difficulty. The charging port is on the right side of the case. The front of the case is the shorter side, and the case opens by pushing up on the top. There is no hinge, but the case will open easy enough, even if the lid flops a little while open.

The Earbuds

The earbuds are very small and easily fit in your ears. They have stems on the bottoms, much like the Pamu Slide earbuds I reviewed earlier this week. However, these are much more straightforward in their packaging. The left earbud is packaged on the left with the right being, strangely enough, on the right. These are extremely comfortable to wear and I have not been able to get them to fall out, thus making these very easy to recommend for fit. One thing very important to know is that these ship with little bits of film over the charging stems on each individual earbud. The charging stem is located at the very top of the stem of the earbuds, just below the part that goes in your ears. You need to remove these films on each one before the case will charge your earbuds. A lot of people don't do this and report trouble charging the case. Removing that film on each one works like a charm and should solve any charging problems.

Pairing

Pairing on these is a breeze. Just take them out of their case and they will automatically attempt to pair. Just open your device and pair with the Enacfire G20. You can use these individually, meaning that one can be in the case while you use the other. However, you will lose some controls by doing this (to be understood after reading the controls below). When you put them back in the case, they will automatically unpair and resume charging.

Battery and Sound

Let's start with the battery. The battery claims to get you 7 hours of continuous play time. However, a lot of reviews on Amazon claim to get 8 hours. I have not run out of battery yet, but I can say easily that I believe the claim of 7 hours. The 8 hours may depend on what level of volume you are using. I believe the case can get you an extra four charges, bringing your total time up to between 35 and 40 hours. That is very impressive. Of course, there are cases out there that get you more time, but for this price point, this is awesome.

Now on to the sound. In a word, the sound on the Enacfire G20s is incredible! The sound stage (that is instrument and vocal separation across the sound scape) is awesome! The imaging, that is the ability to pick out the different instruments, is also extremely good and something I would expect from headphones ten times more expensive than these. As an aside, I have another pair of wireless earbuds I plan to review next week that retail for $200, and I would put these up against that pair any day of the week. The bass is kicked up a little, but it does nothing more than enhance the highs and mids, making a very appealing sound for any ear. Even at their retail price of $45.99, the Enacfire G20s are well worth the price tag just for the sound alone. This genuine excellent sound works across all genres of music from techno to rap, pop to rock, country to classical. Also, the volume on these is incredibly loud. Other earbuds I may listen to at 80-85% volume I listen to at about 65-70% with these. Seriously, folks, use caution with these at a high volume. They really do get that loud.

Phone quality

The earbuds use Qualcomm CVC 8.0 noise cancelling technology in their microphones making for extremely good phone call quality. I would say these are some of the better sound out there from sound samples I have heard. When I have made calls, no one has told me that they have trouble understanding me, and their voices come across very clear, even in noisier environments. These earbuds are also rated at IPX8, meaning that they are pretty much waterproof. While some people believe that means that you can shower with these or swim with them, I am still skeptical. I have read reports of the music pausing when the earbuds get wet in the shower, but working just fine once they have dried. Use your own discretion regarding the waterproofing statement of IPX8.

Controls

These earbuds utilize touch controls and they are very well laid out. And the best news is that you can control everything from the earbuds, and the controls are very responsive and easy to find. To play or pause, tap either earbud once. To raise the volume, touch and hold the right earbud. To lower the volume, touch and hold the left earbud. Unlike a lot of other earbuds, the volume on these goes up and down gradually and not in big jumps which is something I like a lot. For the next track, tap twice on the right earbud. For the previous track, tap twice on the left earbud. To summon your "smart" assistant, triple tap either earbud. To take a call, double tap on either earbud when the call comes in. And there you go. It's easy and efficient once you get used to the controls.

Final Thoughts

I would not hesitate in recommending these earbuds to anyone. They are sleek and extremely comfortable and the sound quality is out of this world, especially for the price. Please let me know your thoughts on these if you get a pair.
