I am at my wits end. I went to buy a song and I didn't realize my credit card is expired. What follows next is a pure tale from hell with satan laughing in my face. I tried to edit the payment method, no go. I added it to my wallet, and the card is showing it's activated for use. even though for some reason the text message code I didn't need to enter it. So now if the wallet is updated, why can't I add the payment method to iTunes? It says that my expiration dates can't be in the past. However i know I entered them right and though I had some security code blunders I know this is correct as well. All for a stupid dollar thirty. wondering whether I should even give anything anymore. Anyone can help that'd be great.

This is a very difficult process from having to do it back in the day. My suggestion might be to add the card as a new payment method in the itunes Store on your phone or update the expiration date and card info from the itunes Store app. Make sure you are filling out every field and doing it in the correct manner. It might be easier on the phone than on the computer. I remember it took me a really long time to figure out which required field needed to be changed in order to accept my new card. When I tried doing it on itunes on the computer it would not identify which field I had incorrectly filled out, so I had to manually go through every field and make sure it was in the acceptable format. Frustrating to say the least. I wish there was a simpler method for this to update something as simple as an expiration date on a credit card. That time is coming sooner than later when I will have to do the same thing and update my expiration date for the payment card on file. I wish I could be more help or had to replicate the process so I could provide exact instructions.
