Restart iPhone via VoiceOver

Low Vision Accessibility on Apple Products

I have an iPhone SE (1st generation).
Due to a hardware problem, more often then I'd like, its screen stops working. Everything works, audio, vibration, microphones, Touch ID, it even registers taps.
A workaround I found is to restart it. Forcing restart is a bit rude, so when the screen goes dark, to have some feedback I activate VoiceOver with a triple click on the home button. Then using Siri I have to enable AssistiveTouch where I managed to put a restart button.
What I'm looking for is a way to restart the phone more quickly. I wasn't able to find any option in the Settings app nor in Shortcuts. Do you have any advice?

Visit
Settings>Accessibility>Voce Control.

After enabling it, say
"Reboot Device."

You can temperarily stop voice control at anytime by saying "Go To Sleep" and renable it by saying "Wake up."

Voice Control is extremely powerful. It's even gotten VoiceOver Actions built-in to it.

Hey there I have just read the post here, and I would say call apple care at
1-800-275-2273
The scren going dark like that to me at least does sound like a hardware issue, but the folks at apple care can confirm this and if so help you by telling you your options to get the Iphone repaired, or if in warranty replaced.

Thanks. The iPhone is out of warranty (it's a refurbished phone bought on eBay and the seller don't want to provide warranty – even if it should), a local unofficial repair store asked more than two thirds of the price I bought it at first. It would be better to buy a new one. I'm mostly trying to wait hoping Apple would release an iPhone 12 of about the same physical size in October.

Thank you. I'd prefer a way that doesn't require voice, but your solution is surely a bit quicker than the one I was using till now. Thank you again

I'm surprised there is no Siri Shortcut to restart an iOS/iPad OS device yet.
Not that I know of one anyway...

Submit it to apple via feedback.apple.com and see if they can make one, or if you can some how do same. I can't code, but someone shoudl be able to come up with something.

There are probably some security concerns.

By the way, I refined my workaround.
Now I have the triple push on the home button set to toggle VoiceOver.
I put the Restart option at the first place in the Assistive Touch menu so it is the first to be selected when opening the menu using VoiceOver.
Then I made a Shortcut that toggle both Assistive Touch and Voice Control and put it in an easy to reach place in the first home screen. (You can find it at
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/9d90fb1484b34751bd3a45cee40c2b92 )
This way I can choose which reboot method to use according to the situation.

Maybe I am missing something here, but can you do the standard hardware restart? I forget what it is on an SE, but on my iPhone 11 it's a quick Volume Up, then a quick Volume Down, and finally I hold the other side button for about 10 seconds. On my previous iPhone 7, I held the power button and then added the Volume Down.

I haven't tried it yet, but that's the command, so far as I remember. You can find all the common ds if you go into accessibility>VoiceOver>voice control>customize commands and then explore, if I remember right.

@DPinWI
On bad days the problem happen 4-5 times in rapid succession, so I'm trying to avoid the hard restart since it doesn't allow background process to safely quit.

@Bruce Harrell
In my shortcut I also enable Voice Control. However I'm Italian and that feature has not yet been localized. And I feel awkward to talk to a device :D
However VoiceOver is still required because otherwise I wouldn't be able to know if it's got the command.
