Hi. I have started using Apple Books a lot more these days and was wondering do you guys buy normal books and read them with Voice over or do you buy Audible books from books? I know you can get audio books from within the Apple Books app was thinking of buying a normal book and see what its like reading it with VoiceOver.

Cheers.

Hi. Have you tried the BARD Mobile IOS app? Zillions of audible books. Many excellent readers. I highly recommend it.

Hi! I have been reading books with Apple Books for years, and very few of those have been audio books. The e-books bought from the bookstore in the Apple Books app can be read with VoiceOver: once you have opened the book, swipe down with two fingers, the Read All gesture. I have sometimes noticed that the first page of a book seems blank: when that happens, find the page chooser near the bottom of the screen, and swipe up on that till you find a page where VO reads text, then you can use the Read All gesture I mentioned above.

Great help. I tried it before but somehow did not manage it. Knock on ring normal Books which is great. Thank you again. Now all I have to do is find the sleep feature in the book. Ha ha ha. Have a great day

I read ePub books all the time with Apple Books on iPhone. Bookmarking and jumping between chapters works great and I am able to flip through pages or even skim the way a sighted usr would. I will purchase an audio book if I want to be entertained and if the reader is good as I find inflection and tone of voice makes a difference.

Hello:
If i will purchase a book from another app store outside my country, with another APpple ID, must i switch between my 2 IDS to read? or once i purchase the book, it will be available for all my APple IDS on this Mobile?

Yes, I read books with voiceover all the time. I often use Voice Dream Reader paired with books from Bookshare or I use Kindle. Kindle Plus allows you to pay $10/month and then you can read many books for free. :)

I have both Apple Books and Kindle. My preference is to have Speak Screen read them. It doesn’t read all the other stuff on the page like Voice Over. It just reads the page, flips to the next page and keeps on reading. It seems to do this with any book so far. Mostly I listen to audiobooks read by real people using the BARD mobile app. The Library of Congress provides a huge ocean of books of all subjects and genres, all for free if you have low vision or blindness. You can take up to 100 books a month and never have to check them back in , an amount I’ll never come close to. I’ll listen to maybe 5 to 7 books a month.
