I need to buy a pair of hearing aids and would like to is Costco for more reasonably priced models. Unfortunately, I am finding that the third-party apps are not ADA compliant and user-friendly. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations of which model will work with my iPhone? The choices seem to be between resound, Phillips, or sonic. Is there a specific make and model that would work best?

Hi. Your best bet might be to do some research to find out if there's an audiologist in your ara and book an appointment. The sooner you can get in, the better. An audiologist will be able to help you find the right kind of hearing aids for your situation. Before going to the appoint, I'd suggest doing the following. One, make a list of anything you want to decuss during your visit. Two, mention your concerns to your doctor, using your phone as a demo to show him or her what the hearing aids need to work with. And three, explain what you are looking for in a hearing aid as well as the devices you will be suing it with.

Oh I bought my resound cala made for iPhone hearing aids from Costco several years ago, and they work fine with my iPhone 10s.

I don’t use the resound app, and i don’t need it. You might not need it Either.

Hello,
Unfortunately the blind hearing aid community does not know of an accessible app. Accessibility is mostly ignored by the manufacturers. Depending on the app some things can be used but often not some of the more advanced features. While an accessible app would be nice, I suggest concerning yourself more with which aid is going to help you hear. mFI (made for iPhone) aids are still a great way to go and the core features such as streaming audio and phone calls from the iPhone can be done successfully without using the manufacturer's app.

Phonak's app is kinda sorta accessible from what I read, but all of the apps have issues. You are better off using the settings built-in to iOS. It's too bad that all of the manufacturers of hearing aids simply don't care. I slapped ReSound with a 1 star review, and whatever hearing aid you go with, I would recommend doing the same if you encounter issues. The app is free, but the hearing aids are very far from free.

Thanks for the suggestions. After doing some homework, the choice narrows between Reksten adores and Phillips herelink. Whereas the Rexton is $900 cheaper, the third-party apps is useless and it’s even questionable whether or not it’s made for iPhone. The Phillips, even though they’re more expensive are noted to be made for iPhone and the app works, at least in trial mode.

Anyone have any further words of wisdom regarding this? Has anyone tried the Phillips? how about the Adores?
