I’m on my dad‘s Apple ID now, and all of his contacts and information are synced to my phone. If I create my new Apple ID right away, What’s going to happen to his contacts that are on my phone?
From my limited experience with switching Apple Id's, I can tell you that if you sign out of your dad's Apple ID and immediately sign into another one without doing anything else, your dad's contacts would still be on your phone, as well as all other messages, emails, and app data he's generated on his end. If you choose to start a new Apple ID, I highly suggest you factory reset your device and set it up as new on the new Apple ID you've created, as it will give you a clean slate.
Now that I think about it it makes more sense. I've signed out of my Apple ID in the App Store but have never been prompted with such dialogs so I didn't think it would work that way, but I guess I haven't experienced the full scope of things. My bad.
