No Sound from iPod's Internal Speaker

iPod Touch 4th Generation with iOS 6.1.3. A couple of days ago I was moving several apps about, placing them in folders and so on, when the iPod just crashed. However, since I've turned it on again the only way I can hear anything, be it Voice Over or any audio content is via headphones! I've tried the home key plus power button for ten seconds remedy with no result. And any suggestions I can find on the web seem to be all about connecting and disconnecting from the AC power supply and or dock. The AC power thing didn't work and I don't use a dock. Has anyone on here ever experienced this, and more importantly, does anyone have a solution to my silent built-in speaker problem? Thanks in advance. Darran

Have you tried turning up the volume when using the speaker? The iPod tracks the headphone and speaker volume separately. It's possible it's turned all the way down. The next thing I can think of is a full restore.

Hopefully someone will come up with an easy fix, but if not then you may just have to perform a complete restore. I'd recommend doing this through iTunes, making sure to do a back-up first. If it is a software problem, then this should fix it. It is a bit of a pain though, so I assume you want simpler / quicker options if possible. Hope you get it sorted.
