iOS and iPadOS

I am looking forward to WWDC tomorrow, I am excited for iOS 14 and it’s new features. What features are you are are hoping to see for the next iOS?
I am hoping for more voices for voiceover, the ability to have a application installed from the App Store to be a default app, and much more.

Hi,
Subject says it all. I hope the bugs from iOS 13 get resolved in iOS 14. with that being said, please continue to send your bug reports too: accessibility@apple.com the more bug reports get sent for VO users, the better.

Hello. I would like to have a voice like Alex who breathes, and work smoothlly as an American voice.

I really hope that iOS 14 is a dull release, and that Apple takes this year to squash as many bugs as possible. Less crazy new features means more time spent fixing broken stuff.

I also hope they take time to fix Mac OS. I don't have a lot of faith, considering Apple hasn't been bothered to even fix Braille, but perhaps they've put some more effort into it if they really are preparing to announce the transition to ARM chips. I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

I want iOS 14 to b stable. Fix mail, and any bugs. New feature are nice but I want the OS to make battery last long, and so on. Same with apple watch OS.

I'd like Activities to be more customizable. They're great already but they can be better

I agree with others here ... I did not find iOS 13 a good experience from start to finish so I am really hoping that the iOS becomes as stable as iOS 12 was and that new VoiceOver bugs introduced in 13 will be squashed. I have lost a lot of faith in Apple updates during the past year of iOS 13 issues, but I am still a huge fan and hoping they win back my trust this summer!

My first iPhone was 4 and them I went to 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 7, XS, 11 pro max. I got a long time ago a iPad that I lost. It was before VO. iOS 13 is one of the worse iOS. Yes.

I'll be happy if that's all they do. IOS 13 was my second with Apple, and I'm sure glad it wasn't my first, because my confidence in Apple would have been next to nothing. However, I saw what they could do through IOS 12, even though I didn't really start exploring it on my own until around August of 2019, but it was a good experience.

Hi Angel, what do you mean by wanting an app store download to become the default app? that doesn't seem possible unless I'm not understanding you. As for the bugs, though I haven't had many, I certainly am with you on the fixing of them and stop trying to glorify the newer model phones with pretty layouts, new wallpapers and such. What i'd personally like is different sounds for default rings etc. I'm kind of sick of hearing the old phone sound, and watching six people look down. Me? me? nope not me. as for the voices issue, all i'll leave here is I'd rather see languages which need support, I can't think of an example off hand get the support, not people who want another breathing voice etc. I'll never be happy and I've had it explained a lot, why people almost instantly want more voices or better ones or whatever. If I were working at Apple I'd find languages which need vocal support, say Hindi just for an example. I'd support it, then go on to say fixing a battery draining issue. We'll see what comes next.

My two biggest requests which I don't think will be added any time soon are making the volume of the ring it's own separate independent setting so voiceover can stay louder than the ring tone if you desire that setting.

I watched the WWDC presentation today, and I was very disappointed. Accessibility was not mentioned at all. It's great that Apple wants to put movie theater sound quality into airbuds, but as someone who really loves music, I want that kind of sound quality in music as well. One thing that bothers me as an iPhone XR user is that with buying and streaming music through iTunes and Apple Music, we don't get to listen to music in high resolution. Since I'm paying monthly for an Apple Music membership, plus I buy albums from iTunes from the artists I love, I should get high resolution music for what I'm paying for, and so should everyone else who uses iTunes and the Music app. Also, when you compare the XR to other phones like the 8 plus, XS Max, or 11 Pro Max, the quality of the speakers on those phones beat the XR by a long shot. With video playback on the XR, it sounds bomb, so I know Apple can do the same thing for music. I know what a lot of people are going to say, get a bluetooth speaker, which I have. When I pay $1,000 for a phone, regardless of whether it's over a 2 year period or right away, the speakers and the music quality should be killer!

I totally agree with the previous poster about the issue about not getting high resolution music, and I’m also disappointed about not hearing about Accessibility during the presentation today. What I really like about the new operating system is that the app gets organized, and people can hide pages so that way peoples phones doesn’t have to be cluttered with a bunch of apps and different pages.

I would like to see apple fix notifications so they go away immediately unless I have instructed them not to under notification settings. Why did apple change this anyway?

By Holger Fiallo on Friday, June 26, 2020 - 04:41

They never report on it.

I am on the iPhone and iPad groups for the blind on fb and someone stated a new feature coming with accessibility is being able to do some jestures from the back of the phone. They did not know if it could be done with a case on though. Personally I don't see a any benifits if this feature is true.

Check YouTube 90 features by Brandon Butch. He mention it. If you tap on the back of phone get shortcuts for a specific thing. Also VOchanges for hearing and other things.
