Closing apps on Apple Watch

watchOS and Apple Watch Apps

Hi everyone,
I have an Apple Watch Series 4 running the latest version of Watch OS. Does anybody know how you close apps using VoiceOver in order to stop them from running in the background? I have noticed that my battery has been draining pretty fast recently so I am hoping that closing some apps will fix the problem. I have it set so that the doc displays my most recently opened apps - does removing them from the doc also fully close them, or is there another way that it needs to be done?
Thank you for your help,
Alice

According to what I have read:
1. Open the app you want to quit.
2. Hold down the side button until the shutdown screen appears.
3. Then hold the digital crown button in for awhile.
In several years of having an Apple Watch I've never done this. I just restart the watch usually only when VoiceOver goes crazy. But it is a computer, so you could be right. Good luck. -Travis

Hi

Can I still close apps on Apple Watch Series 5 with WatchOS 6.2.6 (17T620) via the solution above?

I have tried, but as I can see the solution not work anymore. I using VoiceOver.

Thanks in advance for your answer, and have a nice day.

Regards,
Anders.

  1. Hit the power button once, or twice if you don't land on the doc the first time.
  2. Swipe up on the app until you get to close,
  3. Double tap.
