Mac is on it's way out, need advice

Hi all. It seems my eight year old Mac, is asking to go to the recycling bin in the sky. It's now up to me to find another one. Here are my requirements, something not the latest, but able to hold up to the next few Os versions. I'd absolutely love a ssd. I'm thinking of going with a 256 but that's probably as high as my bedget would allow. I don't care so much about ram, processor speed that type of stuff. Has anyone bought a referbished Mac of any configuration and macbook pro air etc? the air seems protable enough, but I'm concerned you can't fit more than 128 into it. I'd like to stay with a 13 inch model if I can. I don't need the cd rom drive or anything like that. Are there any competitent sites, not Walmart bestbuy Target Macmall or Amazon, I should look? i've looked at those and also of course apple though not at their referb selection. I dont' have a ton of time but I can baby this along. Also hoping my music and stuff will be fine. I haven't backed up my phone in ages, have no HD externally to do it so... Murphy's law strikes again. If this is better suited off this site, shoot me an email. thanks

Hi Siobhan, MacBook Air will do what you want and you can now get over 128 GB of storage on it. If you're not editing multitrack audio, or rendering 4k video, there's no need for anything beyond this. I check the MacRumors Buyer's Guide to see what the service status is of each model. Your best bet is to purchase from Apple refurbished although you can find deals from the places you've mentioned.

If you're considering buying a Mac that may not be the latest, keep in mind that depending on which one you choose, it may come with the butterfly keyboard mechanism that has proven problematic and has been abandoned by Apple. These include the MacBook Pro, 13 inch, (2016 to 2020) MacBook Pro, 15 inch, (2016 to 2019) MacBook Air (2018 to 2020) and 12 inch MacBook (all models).

hello you said you are wondering about another Mac to replace your current one I have a suggestion I don’t know if you want to go this route or not but another option would be the iPad Pro 12.9 inch with the magic keyboard in a case with the 256 gig or you want to stay with the Mac
