very annoying thing about the fb app

This is just basically a rant but I really am annoyed with the fb app, what happens is that everytime I'm scrolling through my newsfeed and I get an fb notification voiceover will refresh the screen and tell me who commented on my post and then it will refresh again after it's done telling me who commented, until I respond to that comment, this means if I'm reading a long post I have to go back and reread it. What is the purpose of this annoying behavior? This started happening several fb app updates back, I can't tell you which one as fb has had many updates.

Could this be because you have FB notifications enabled? VO will always read notifications wherever you are, in or out of FB. You can disable them by going to your device Settings, Notifications, and toggle FB off

Interesting. I think you're having your problem because of a bright new idea fb decided to try in their latest update. I don't actually know if that's what it is because I permanently uninstalled fb last year after I learned about fb's many on-going privacy violations and about how their app; hogs memory, battery usage, and cpu power. I've seen a number of news articles before and after about the 3 apps the experts tell everyone to dump. FB. is on every list.

I have my own grievance with them. Once again, the birthdays have mysteriously gone missing. The only way that I can get to that day as birthdays is if I go to the newsfeed tab and then scroll up until I see a name for today’s birthdays. They need to bring that back. Or if anyone knows where it is, could they please tell me?
I have Facebook notifications turned off. And I don’t have the problem that you’re having. I have found a way that you can clear some of the memory that Facebook does hog though. If you periodically delete it and then uninstall it. And then reinstall it. You’ll get your memory back. I know when I had my 16 GB iPad, I ran out of storage a few times, and I seen Facebook was taking up almost an entire gigabyte of storage! I uninstalled it, and then reinstall it. And then I went and looked at the amount of storage it was using after, and it went back down to megabytes. But I think it’s safe to say, that we all have at least one or two if not more of our own grievances with that app. Honestly, the only reason I even still keep it on there, is because it’s more accessible than Facebook‘s website. Otherwise I would use the website.
I honestly think, they need to have a regular version of Facebook app, and then they need to have a version that specifically for Accessibility related needs. I don’t know how well that would work considering Facebook‘s track record when it comes to Accessibility, but maybe it might solve some of the problems. Who knows. But that’s just my two cents worth. Plus, maybe they could try ideas on the regular Facebook App, and then maybe if it works, then they can update the Accessibility version of Facebook‘s app. If they had that version. But like I said, that’s just my two cents worth. I’m sorry you’re having issues with it though. And I hope that either you can find a workaround, or did they fix it.

Same here, I would as well if the website itself wasn't so clunky. I may try reinstalling it to see if that works.
Who all is on the fb accessibility team anyways, apparently they don't have a lot of people that know about vo, but that's just my oppinion.
There use to be a voiceover app that use to work with facebook which I can't remember the name of but I think it got abanded.
