Hi!
I am looking for a GPS app that is accessible for the blind, and it doesn’t have to be free.
How is Google maps? Is it good in terms of giving turn by turn directions?, Does it have any voice guidance feature? How is blind square? Is that app good? Looking forward to get suggestions recommendations, and reviews of the apps that I’ve mentioned.

i used google maps
just for your info, i have used google maps. It does give turn-by-turn directions from point a to point b. Its voiceover usable as well. I used it a couple times when i was on medical transport rides to and from my doctors to listen to the turn-by-turn directions to make sure it was the same ones the transport drivers GPS was saying and it was:)
Try Nearby Explorer
Nearby Explorer is another GPS app made especially for the blind. It is distributed by the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) and is free.

nearby explorer correction
Nearby Explorer was mentioned, and I also use it. However, by that specific name, it costs roughly $80 in United States currency. The free version, which is still being gradually updated, uses a more modern mapping system. If you want the free version, you must look for "Nearby Explorer Online" in the app store. It is, for the most part, fully functional. HTH.
blind square thoughts
Blind Square does not give turn by turn instruction..You will be using more battery power by running it in conjunction with another app such as Google Maps. Why use 2 apps when 1 will suffice? You can do a lot with Blind Square, but if you are looking for turn by turn info, I would not get it. HTH.
iPhone GPS
Believe it or not, Sirie does pretty good too. When our office first moved, I gave Sirie the address and he got us right to our new location.
Siri is not a GPS app
When you use Siri for directions, it starts, and uses, Apple Maps, which is the built-in GPS app on an iPhone or iPad. But Siri itself does not perform this task, any more than asking Siri to open an app would be claiming that Siri is doing what the app is actually doing. In this instance, Apple Maps is the GPS app that is doing the work. Siri only opened it and gave it the request. You got the results from Aple Maps, the actual app. HTH.
