How does VoiceOver compare on the new SE 2020 to previous versions?

I'm thinking about getting a replacement phone and the SE 2020 seems a likely candidate. I was wondering how the voice-over compares to previous versions and wondered if anyone could let me know? I've had past phones where the voice-over has been what I can only describe as a bit wobbly which I find really annoying, so wouldn't want to buy a new phone and discover I got the same again.
Thanks

I don't have the new SE, but I don't see why there would be any problems. VoiceOver's performance and reliability has a lot more to do with the version of iOS on the phone. The only way the model of phone would be a factor is if it's a really old phone that is slowing down, causing VoiceOver to become laggy. The new SE would absolutely not have that problem. VoiceOver on iOS 13.5 is pretty stable at least in terms of iOS 13 versions, so just update whatever phone you get to that and you should be fine.

Hi! I have the new iPhone SE myself, and I agree with previous posters that there should be no major problems with VoiceOver on this brand-new model. VoiceOver has worked excellently in all the versions of IOS 13 that I have used on my SE: I'm not sure what it arrived with, but since I set it up I have updated to IOS 13.4.1 and then to IOS 13.5. I only have one small problem with VoiceOver, that sometimes the volume of the speech through my iPhone's speaker randomly gets rather loud for a few seconds, but that's hardly a deal-breaker, and it doesn't happen all the time. Otherwise, I've had no problems with VoiceOver since I started using this new iPhone.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my question. The phone I had with the bad voice-over was brand new and is running the most up to date version of IOS. I got so fed up with it that I gave it to my sighted Husband, but still occasionally go back to it and the voice is still just as bad.
All your responses give me confidence that should my next purchase have a dodgy voice-over, I should really take it back to get an exchange. Best wishes to all & stay safe!

Hi. The SE has the latest processor built in and even though the CPU has been throttled so the performance level is abit over the original iPhone 8 Plus, the thing works as snappy as you would expect it to work.

Greetings Moritz.

I had an iPhone 8 and switch to a new special addition. Voiceover is much much faster. Very very happy with my purchase.
