Hi All,
Just upgraded from iPhone 8 to 11. All is fine re face id etc. However, when I use the phone to unlock it doesn't take me direct to the home screen. Instead, it says unlocked then I have to swipe to actually get off the lock screen. With my 8 touch id unlocked the phone and took me direct to the home screen. I'm sure there is a way of going direct there but I can't for the life of me find a setting to do this. Any ideas how I can unlock and get to the home screen without having to do a swipe?

I Don't Think You Can
I too switched from an 8 Plus to an 11 and have never found the setting, that's in iOS for the 8 Plus, that allows you to go straight through the lock screen to the home screen.
Last I heard, there isn't a way and sadly, you have to swipe up each time to go to the home screen.
It might make some sense
I don't have an 11, however here's my theory. With a physical home button, it registers your pressing, thereby opening the phone. With the swipe to open action also the home button, is it just another way of confirming, yes I want to open the phone?
Oh well
Cheers both. I managed to confirm this via google. Found a quality rant forum about why this was a bad feature as you could do this with touch id. So, for now we go with what we have.
Siobhan's right. Yes, you can
Siobhan's right. Yes, you can swime up before faceID registers, and then when your device unlocks, it goes to the home screen. HTH.
This seemed odd to me at
This seemed odd to me at first also, but you will get used to it.
