Hi Guys quick question. I'm upgrading from iPhone 8 to 11. Now I know there is no home button. I also know that you use slide to get to home/app switcher. However, if you don't like haptics and turn them off do you still get the haptic feedback for getting to home etc? or, do you have to leave haptics on? Any help appreciated.

I would think not
Hi. I don't have an 11, but if you turn them off, that defeats the purpose of needing to feel it when something happens. Personally I like them and wish Apple would do more with them. If it were me, I'd take out the smaller motor and have the more intense engine. sorry I can't be more help.
Curious
Hi Siobhan, I actually agree. I use them all the time. Was more curious for those people who don't like them. If this doesn't work if turned off then people who don't like them can't upgrade past iPhone 8 which would be silly. So, was more wondering if Apple had separated those haptics out.
If you turn system haptics
If you turn system haptics off, then you are correct, you would only get the tones letting you know if you're going to the home screen or the app switcher, or control/notification center. Even though I like the haptic feedback, I find the tones more helpful. Now that I've had my XR for a while I don't miss the home button at all.
That said, I am ever so slightly tempted by the new SE because of the smaller size.
Bigger is better
For me I love the bigger size. It's a pain to put in my purse, then again I hate purses but, being a girl... Besides all that I couldn't go back to a smaller size and yet, paying over a grand for a phone just seems stupid to me. Not calling anyone stupid, more the price tag. I tend to use my phones until they are very slow and i get more and more frustrated at trying to use it.
Customize Haptics
Lee, you can customize which haptics are on and which are off. If you go to Settings>Accessibility>VoiceOver>Audio>Sounds & Haptics, there you can fine tune which haptics you feel and which ones you wish to turn off. So though you can leave System Haptics turned on, you can control specific haptics and whether you feel them.
Do keep in mind though, and you may not encounter this, but with my iPhone 11, I have this odd glitch where, for no specific reason, haptics stop working completely. Usually, turning VoiceOver off and back on solves this. I also get this other odd thing when the "chunk" sound that you hear when unlocking with Face ID, that also occurs on occasion, stops playing and all you feel is the haptic. Toggling VoiceOver off and back on fixes this as well, but only until the next time either the sound or haptic stop working.I'm pretty sure that this is a iOS 13 glitch though, and hope they fix it in iOS 14.
HTH!
Thanks
Cheers guys will see how this goes.
