I was just wondering if anyone has found a way to turn on Disney Plus's audio description using the Apple TV. In most apps, swiping down with one finger brings up the audio and subtitles menu, but this does not work in the Disney Plus app. In fact, on my apple tv, most VO gestures do not work. I had a very nice conversation with a representative from Disney, and we eventually figured out that if I enabled AD on my phone, it would carry over to the Apple TV, but I still would like to know how or if I can adjust that setting on the apple TV itself. Hopefully, someday, the Disney Plus app will have the same universal gestures as all the other streaming apps I use.

Hi Missy,
I’m not sure which Apple TV you have, but works on 4K running latest software. Certainly a clunky process though.
Slide down to open media control, slide right to audio, down to bring into list, right to scroll through languages. Just press when you find selection. A good amount have AD, but not all. HTH

Hello. Does anyone know if audio description is available for the Clone Wars series and also for Star Wars Rebels? I know for a fact that Clone Wars has been audio described in the past, but I cannot get the audio description to come up on the Disney Plus app. Thanks.

Sadly no, Clone Wars and Rebels do not yet seem to have a descriptive audio track.

I've contacted Disney and requested that they look into adding it. I know that when Clone Wars was on Netflix, it had descriptive audio, but it doesn't look like the track made its way onto Disney+.

It would be nice if they had the same type of agreement for audiobooks, that if one title has a descriptive audio track, that it should be available to other services and countries.

I know that there is different sayings from country to country, but at least for the English tracks, even if I get a track that's read by someone in Australia or the UK, I don't mind, so long as we get a descriptive audio track, that's what matters.

Very sad news indeed. You can follow some of it, but without knowing some of the background actions, it really leaves one floundering. Do you have the Disney Plus e-mail? Also, perhaps putting it on Twitter would also work.

It's one thing to not have audio description for stuff that has never had it. But I know for a fact the Clone Wars series was described when it was on Netflix. That it is not while on Disney Plus is baffling. Must be a licensing issue. Both IT and the new Bladerunner were described on ITunes, but not on Netflix. I just don't bloody get it.

yep, similar thing happened with marvels runnaways.

I know that show is on Hulu in the states, but I'm in Australia so for some odd reason Disney Plus has it here.

I asked on a facebook group that discusses audio description and someone is apparently looking into it, so we'll see what happens.

Star Wars is supposedly on the road map, so I really don't know what's going on there.

I'll just paste the link to that thread so you can follow along.

At the time of this post it's a few months old, but occasionally someone, like myself resurrects it to add to it.

Sadly, I never did find an email. I believe I just went to the app and found something like "Contact Us" and filled out the web form.

Unless if anyone knows if they do happen to have an email though.

I'm sure Disney will eventually have described audio for all of the Star Wars content, we'll just have to keep our ears open.

Hi guys,

As you read in the subject, Disney+ will start in two days in my home country Germany. I have suggest to subscribe for me and my family members.
So my question to the users in the US is, is Disney+ getting mostly accessible for voiceover users? I read on some issues which was at the beginning in November noticeable. Are most of these issues are solved, or are there still some in app using?
Thanks for an answer.+
