Facebook trying to tag random people when typing a comment

I did a search on this site prior to posting but didn't see this issue raised yet. If a thread already exists, feel free to share the link to it.

This has been going on for many months now but I just hadn't gotten around to posting here. When I'm typing a comment or reply to a comment using the Facebook iOS app, random names will be announced by VoiceOver as I type, and sometimes the name will actually get inserted into the comment. On a few occasions I've missed this and ended up confusing some random person when they ask me why they were tagged in my comment. This is extremely annoying and requires me to slow down significantly when typing comments, especially because it's easy to accidentally add the tag suggestion to the comment when you're trying to use auto-complete or one of the suggestions above the keyboard. Does this happen to anyone else? If an example helps, say I'm trying to type the word "answer." I might type A, N and then suddenly I hear something like "Annette Davis" or some other name that starts with these letters. Almost always, it's a name I don't recognize. Once it turned out to be the name of a friend of a friend.
Anyway, super strange and annoying behavior.
