I doubt there will be an iPhone 9.

It's expected that Apple will be releasing early this year an updated iPhone SE that will be based on the iPhone 8. Some have speculated that Apple will call this the iPhone 9. I Personally doubt they will use this name, as doing so might confuse some in to thinking that it's an old model that predates the iPhone X rather than being new this year. Watch this space for Apple to prove me wrong .

Here's a summary of the speculation:

I'm excited about it. it looks good. When do you all think the spring event will be?

It sounds like Apple has a number of new and upgraded products in the pipeline for release some time in the next few months - the SE 2, AirTags, MacBook Air and 13 inch MacBook Pro with a scissor keyboard, over the ear headphones, wireless charging mat, and possibly upgraded iPads.

With none of these arguably significant enough to headline a launch event, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a repeat of last year when Apple announced via press releases a number of new products over consecutive days. The consensus at the time was that this was quite effective.

If Apple does stage a release event, then March probably seems most likely based upon past history. They would probably roll in some news about upcoming shows on Apple TV+.

I would like to see an iPhone SE2 have 3 models. 64gb 128gb and 256gb. I would be fine with the latter 2. If it supported 5g that would be awesome.

Hi! Maybe iPhone 9 isn't so illogical as the name of the next cheaper iPhone model, which will be a follow-up to the iPhone 8 and will not include all the features of the X and 11 models, if the rumours are correct. Whatever that new iPhone model is called, I look forward to replacing my iPhone 6 with it this year, as I gather it will be smaller and less expensive than the iPhone 11. As for its specification, I would expect it to have at least 64 GB capacity, since, as far as I can tell, Apple doesn't make 16 and 32 GB iPhones any more: I wouldn't want less than 64 GB anyway, I've got so used to having that much memory after owning a 64 GB iPhone 6 for more than five years.

Chris has a point. Apple will "probably" have an event in march, where they "might" talk about the new iPhone SE2, if that is what they're calling it. I will not be getting it as I am waiting tilll the flagship model is released in september. In my opinion, the 4.7 iPhone for me is dead and gone, thank goodness. I don't like the smaller form factor, Once I went to the plus models, and now the iPhone X, I don't look back to the older 4.0/4.7 inch factor. We'll wait to see what happens. If the SE2 will be released and that's what people want, fine. No prob. I'm cool with the cheaper devices if they work for ya!!

I'm glad we will still get a choice of sizes. It's understandable that those who have started using the bigger models have grown to prefer them, but, as I have small hands, smaller models suit me better. Therefore, I'm grateful that Apple is not yet ready to stop producing the 4.7-inch iPhone.

hi
I love this concept.
most android company's have now all most stopped producing smaller phones.
I love when phones are small and sleek .
though I won't change it for now as I got mine in last may but still, it's good to have if they launch it.
