Hi Everybody,
Just a quick post to say that Weather Gods 2.3 has been released to the App Store.
The main changes are:
- support for the 7th generation iPad
- new iOS13 Siri Shortcuts which support current location and a location you can configure in the shortcut
- a Siri Shortcut to retrieve moon information for the next 14 days
- we moved the weather sounds menu into the main settings section to make it more accessible. The weather sounds section allows you to listen to all the different types of weather sounds in the app
- bug fixes for the Apple Watch and especially the Voiceover Smart Weather complication
Many thanks to all our beta testers who helped with the testing!
If you're enjoying Weather Gods but haven't left a review on the App Store then we would love to hear your feedback please. There is a direct link in Weather Gods settings.
Scott

thanks
thanks as always for a great weather app. Getting better and better. The only weather app I will ever use!
Thanks
Great job and I will install it. How? Since I was doing beta. PS Bella the cat likes the sounds.
Beta
Hi Holger,
You have the latest with the beta so you can carry on if you like with that one, unless you wish to stop beta testing?
Thanks for the Update
Scott, thanks as always for doing such a nice job. Just installed the update earlier but have been rather busy as of late. But WG is still my 3rd-party weather app of choice.
WG first choice
So what he has to do to make it your first choice? It is my and Bella the cat.
WG
Morning
Using current beta of WG and iOS 13.3.1 and OS6.1.2 and Series 5. In watch using solar dial complication WG just mention presipitation unlikely. I did refresh but do not get the current temp. Can I set it to tell me the temp?
Solar Dial
Hi Holger,
Sorry, but we don't have a Voiceover Smart complication for the Solar Dial corner complications.
I'll see if I can add one.
Thanks.
I thought it was a bug. I am glad that you will consider it.
I'm really glad
I just want to thank you again for everything you do to make this app not only accessible, but easy to use for VoiceOver users. It's literally a 1-stop dashboard for everything weather related, and here in Texas that can change a lot! And seriously it's super easy to use and intuitive, and it keeps getting better. What more could I ask for?
Thanks Guys!
It's good to know people are still enjoying Weather Gods!
Agree
The only thing it does not is cook
Followup on weather alerts
Hi there,
I am just curious if you made any changes regarding how weather alerts are handled. I had previously contacted you about an issue where I was not getting weather alerts for my location as expected, and it turned out there was an issue in how the weather service was handling forecast zones in my area, which effectively meant there were two overlapping zones for my area. Weather Gods was seeing one zone, which is only being used for fire weather, and not the one for other alert types. You manually added the second zone for me so that I can get alerts, but I wonder if you have since been able to come up with a more robust solution that would work for all users, without having to add zones manually.
By the way, I noticed that I am no longer hearing the word Fahrenheit after each degree announcement. I really like this change, since we Americans are lazy and have no desire to use Celsius, and the extra word was slowing down VoiceOver speech.
Weather Alerts Follow Up
Hi dvdmth,
Glad you found the shortened temperature reading useful - I had quite a few requests for this one.
Regarding the weather alert zone overlaps, I haven't been able to make any progress on this one, but it is still on my list of things to do.
