Apple has today released macOS 10.15.3, watchOS 6.1.2, and tvOS 13.3.1.

MacRumors has previously reported that it didn't find any major changes to macOS 10.15.3 during the beta cycle, suggesting that Apple's focus with this release is on performance improvements, security updates, and bug fixes.

Our own testing of macOS 10.15.3 suggests that there are likely no changes or fixes for blind or low vision users in this release.

Apple's release notes for macOS 10.15.3, via MacRumors are as follows:

  • Optimizes gamma handling of low gray levels on Pro Display XDR for SDR workflows when using macOS
  • Improves multi-stream video editing performance for HEVC and H.264 encoded 4K video on the 16-inch MacBook Pro (2019)

watchOS 6.1.2 also appears to be a minor update focusing on performance and under-the-hood improvements, with MacRumors again reporting that it found no new outward facing features during the beta cycle.

Indeed, the release notes for watchOS 6.1.2, via MacRumors simply state that the update, "Provides important security updates and is recommended for all users."

tvOS 13.3.1 also appears to be minor, likely focusing on under-the-hood bug fixes and performance improvements rather than outward-facing changes.

If you notice any fixes, enhancements or regressions during your own use of these updates, please let us know by posting a comment below.

How to update

macOS 10.15.3 can be downloaded by going to System Preferences > Software Update.

watchOS 6.1.2 is available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update) or by going to the Watch app on your iPhone and navigating to General> Software Update. To install the update, your Watch must be connected to its charger and have at least 50% battery power.

I've seen one improvement with 10.15.3 - the sluggishness with executing AppleScripts activated using the keyboard manager seems to be resolved.

Hi all. I just updated my Mac last night and everything's working as advertised. I haven't used AppleScript much, but will have to check it out now. I'm also going to send this post to my sister who uses VoiceOver. Thanks as always for keeping us updated, pun totally intended.
