Voice over behavior after speaking

Hi. i noticed something strange. i only wish i could pinpoint when this behavior resurfaced. A few versions of IOS ago, Voice over would take a long time to click off, after it was done speaking. You would only notice this if your ear were next to the speaker, say if it were lying on your pillow. Well in a subsequent version this wait time for lack of a better description was drastically reduced. Until now with IOS13, i noticed that it took i'd say a full two minutes after i stopped interacting with the screen. Let me give you an example. The screen is set to autolock in one minute, and you've just finished swiping over an app and just wait. You will hear "screen dimmed", then the chirp when the phone locks itself. Then if you are very quiet, you will hear the hiss of the internal speaker for as i said about another minute. i didn't count so i could be off, but I know this wasn't happening in a previous version of IOS By no means is this something to be worried about, I just happened to notice so I thought I'd see if anyone else did.

This is hard to tell. Might be hardware differences across different devices, too, or the difference between being or not being on low power mode, etc. But yeah, sometimes I also tend to think the waiting times are shorter or longer than at other times.

All agree that VO in unlucky 13.3 has many bugs. I am dealing with one. When on the lock screen I get a notification and slide finger to clear, VO still reading the motification even so it was clear. It happens with button, VO talks and affect siri and she becomes confuse. She is going to need a psychiatrist soon.Weather Gods also. Still having issues with siri when pressing power

Hi Siobhan,
Never noticed this so just tested. iPhone8 iOS13.3 and the hiss as you call it disappears in about 3 seconds. So maybe a model based issue or maybe try a hard reset and see if that works. As you say not a major issue but presumably this will even slightly affect battery life.

Hi. What's a hard reset? I forgot to mention I have an iPhone 8+ running 13.3 Like I said, not a big deal but annoying. I was not on low power whenI first noticed this. I'll test it now. I just did again, and here are the steps to follow, in case you hadn't done them. 1. open the phone and touch an app, or just leave the phone open. 2. don't do anything. You'll hear "Screen dimmed" Then the chirp. Then after that, I noticed a very long delay until the phone stopped hissing or whatever. Also worth noting you can't hear it in the ear piece speaker, it's only the one down the bottom.

Hi,
I meant reboot the phone. For iPhone8 I believe you quickly press the volume up button followed by volume down then the on/off button and hold for about 15 seconds.

Hi,
I'm not having that issue at all. and it's actually 10 seconds.

What happens if you manually lock the screen by clicking the side button? Does this still happen then?

Also, test to see if it is the same with screen curtain on or off so you can identify the problem
