Need help with IPhone 11 Pro and Braille screen input

Braille on Apple Products

I just bought a new phone a couple days ago.
Because my iPbone 7 was old and dying.
So i got the 11 pro.
I use Braille screen input for everything when it comes to typing on my phone.
I am very good with it and type fast with it.
But since I got this new phone i have been having issues.
Certain letters like the letter y for example it wont let me type that.
It will give me weird symbols or other letters.
I recalebrated my fingers.
Went in to explore mode to make sure i was typing the right dots.
If i need to repeat a letter it wont let me do that either.
And it goes in to exploring mode when i am in the middle of trying to type.
Usually when i type fast it does that.
I have looked in my settings and done everything i can think of to fix these problems.
Does anybody have any solutions or has anybody experienced any of this.

Hi,

I have an iPhone 8 and I sometimes run into the same problems as the ones you detailed here. I find that when my hands are too close together when typing, symbols will be flipped, for instance if I type y with my hands too close together it enters and. Also if your hands are not precisely aligned (one slightly above the other if you know what I mean) random letters will be typed instead of the ones you originally desired.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Maddy

Braille screen input works well for the most part, but sometimes I get some of the same issues you describe. Sometimes I get random symbols instead of contractions, in which case toggling to 6 dot input and back to contracted usually fixes it. Sometimes all the dots don't seem to register, so I usually have to close the app I'm working in and go back in, but even that doesn't always fix it.

Hi,
I use uncontracted for my BSI, and it works very well. Until apple gets the contracted issues sorted in BSI, I'll be sticking with uncontracted braille from now on. I think it's easier anyway.

Hey all.
Thank you for your replies.
Maddie I will try and see how my hands are posissioned next time i type and see if that helps.
Brian does your Braille screen input put you in explore mode when the dots dont register the dots?
Yes Justin I mostly use uncontracted Braille since i am always online on twitter and other things.
It is all weird how i am having these problems because i have never had them before.
I even picked up my 7 and watched how my hands were compared to the 11 pro and they seemed like they were the same way.

Hi,
Well, if it's anything the 7 has a smaller display something like 4.7 inches instead of 5.8 so that might have an affect on it.

Greetings: I find that Slide to Type needs to be turned off. Try that and see if this helps.

Another thing, make sure you updated to latest iOS version on the new phone.
