Hey all.
So, I decided to take the plunge and wanted to rent a MacBook, over here in Germany we have a company which exactly does that, you can rent a device for a specified time and pay a monthly fee.
The question now though is what device I need.
For me personally I don't know how well mac OS works on lower end hardware, so I'm asking you.
My tasks I want to do are checking mails, righting and editing documents in pages, numbers, word and excel if possible, read PDF's browse the web, so no real high end gaming, software development or music/video production/editing for me here.
I would tend to the MacBook Air because it's a bit cheaper, but I wanted to get your input first before I take the plunge.
Greetings Moritz.

I use a MBP and it's very nice. I've not tried the Air but I'd be very wary of buying anything with a dual core CPU for even light computing tasks.
air
macbook air can do everything like that. If you want you i think can customise it.
Macbook Air should be fine.
I used a Macbook Air for several years with no issues. I would suggest if you buy one to spend the extra for 16 gigs of ram if possible to future proof your self, but renting one with 8 gigs to try out should be fine.
My opinion
I’ve owned both MBP and MBA. I just sold MBP for new Windows computer, and kept MBA. Unless you are doing something that’s audio or graphic intensive, MBA is fine. I agree with another commenter, if you buy.. increase ram over the basic.
Hmm.
Hmm dang, need to think about that still, and with the new MBP 13 inch beeing registered with the EEC and possibly ariving in Spring around March I would guess, I might pick that one up then.
