strange behavior with ipad & amazon echo & bluetooth

Hey all! I've noticed something strange & quite frankly, annoying happening with my amazon echo, my ipad & bluetooth. I'll pair my ipad to my echo, & then sometimes I'll do something else, or I'll have to get up @ some point during the night or whatever. And sometimes my ipad will just get disconnected from her. It's done it to me 3 times that I can recall, 2 of them being in the last 2 days. Once yesterday, & once a few minutes ago shortly after connecting my ipad to my echo & then going & getting ready for bed. I haven't timed it, so I don't know for how long before it disconnects. And it's random, so I don't know when it will do it. But it never happened with my ipad mini 4. I'm using a 2nd Gen. ipad with Ipad-Os. 13.3 on it. Is this a bug? Have any of you noticed it with echo or any other speakers or devices? I have another bluetooth device, & it doesn't happen with that 1. And I never had this issue with my mini 4. And my ipad & echo are in the same room so distance shouldn't be an issue. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I forgot to mention. It doesn't happen when audio is playing. It only happens when audio is paused, or as was the case tonight, before I hit the play button to start the audio book.
