Thank you very much Sabrina for this entry.
I'm the developer of the game and I hope all of you like the game.

By cityhall on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

hello, can you please restore the mode that you can doubletap on throw button to throw and coffee button to apply coffee? please.

By Sabrina on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Of course I remember the snake oil and coffee but I don't remember the buttons.

By Sabrina on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

For some reason when I drag (mostly down) the app crashes and sends me to the home screen. Running iOs 13.3 here..

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I'm aware that gestures require some practice to master and might need some adjustments, of course. On the "smash the gangs" mode, there are six different actions (attack, swap fighters, apply coffee, apply snake oil, throw hardware and go to kick and punch) applicable to every one of the three lanes separately. The idea is to just touch the lane and apply the action to respond as fast as possible, much faster than swapping thru the different buttons after selecting a lane.
On the other hand, remember that, when your fighters have similar powers as the bandits, they will be able to win without your help, because attacks occur automatically.
You don’t need to attack always, although this can be a winning technique, but you need to swap the fighters before they run out of life.
I hope this helps a bit.
Probably the voice should tell more precisely when and where is snake oil and coffee working. I'll try to add this soon.

I'll wait for a podcast on this one. It sounds kind of interesting, but also very confusing. Same reaction I get when I see mainstream card battle games. I don't understand them, but maybe I could be persuaded. lol Good to see another game from this dev. Fruit Pot was actually more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

I totally agree that this game is quite confusing, specially using voice over. Many things occur very fast and at the same time and it’s difficult to explain all of them with voice over or sounds. I think that the gestures will be the best approach to an effective control of all the actions of the game, but I’m still not quite confident of the comments and other information that the voice over user can get, compared with a sighted user. I also don’t want to reduce the difficulty because the challenge is what makes this kind of games fun. The idea is that blind or low-vision gamers can have, with some practice, the same experience as a sighted gamer. And also participate in the upcoming feature of nearby devices fights. Some work is still needed, and that's why I need you to give me some feedback and ideas. I'm sure in a few weeks, smash the gangs will be you favorite game. Thanks in advance.

Will get it later. Can't wait to play.

By Sabrina on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I understand the gestures but sliding down crashes the app.

Hi Sabrina, I don't have this problem and I've got also iOS 13.3. I have a couple of questions. Are you holding your device vertical or landscape? Is it an iPhone or an iPad? Does it happen at the beginning or in the middle of the battle? Do you hear the bell of the lane before the crash? After the crash, when you reenter the game, does it start at the main menu or in the middle of the battle?. Sorry, this was more than a couple of questions. Please answer only the ones that you find significant. Thanks a lot.

By Sabrina on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

It is hard to explain but I think a screen recording will help. It also records the internal audio from the game..

By David Standen on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I started playing this game a short while ago and really like it. My favourite mode is the smash gangs mode, where I have already managed to make it to mission 4, equipping myself with some items from the hardware store. I'm not very good at the other mode yet, and don't understand how to use the coffee and snake oil but that will come.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

A screen recording of the crash might be the best solution. You can send it to me at
fruitpot@icloud.com
Thanks a lot

By Karok on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

hi, do i have to play with gestures? the tutorial doesn't seem to teach them that well? what is the difference in the moues? ,

You’re right, the game is not available worldwide. There’s some countries governments that require some paperwork that I haven’t done yet. Probably in the future. I’ll try to publish a test version for everyone shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Forget previous message. I’ve added Hong Kong and many others. The game should be shortly available there. Thanks for the interest.

Thats right, both modes smash gangs, and kick and punch require a lot of different actions; and the fastest way to apply the actions are gestures. Unfortunately this gestures require some practice. I’m totally open to change some movements of the gestures if you find something easier or more convenient. Thanks

Yep, first missions require little or no effort to win, but later the bandits have more skills and you must improve your cards and apply some strategy to win. Next version should definitely explain better whats happening.

By Sabrina on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Will be doing the recording when I am more awake today. I like the gestures the way they are.

By dark on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I've just downloaded this game after someone mentioned it on the audiogames.net forum.
I was really looking forward to trying out something with interesting battles and collectables, but I'm afraid I am just not getting how the gestures or game works.

I get there are three enemies at once in 3 lanes, and that the game input is like a phone pad, however when I go to practice gestures mosyt of what happens is I just get a ponk ponk ponk sound which I presume tells me nothing is happening.
I can touch to select each lane, but when I try swiping left or right, the phone only picks them up sometimes, and vertical swipes virtually never.
The hints button is also not particularly helpful to find either from inside the practice pad.

I tried a round, but I wasn't really sure what was going on, because the help is very non specific, likewise it doesn't seem the game tracks gestures as well as standard vo commands.

could someone please explain how this phone pad gesture thing works and give a list of the gestures, so that I can try them out and actually get a handle on what is going on?

Indeed, a long help file which explains the card process with the gestures included rather than these uninformative little notes in the help section would be appreciated I think.

Sorry to have a downer on the game, obviously people have been enjoying it, and I'll definitely persist and see if I can work things out, I just confess to being a bit disappointed that things don't seem to be working correctly and that the help is so lacking.

Btw, I am using an Iphone 8 and latest version of Ios, if that helps.

By dark on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Okay, I have tried the first mission.
I get that three on your team fight automatically three on the enemy team, however, I am not exactly sure how to tell what is going on.
Touching each lane tells me life, however when I try to touch the bottom of the screen I'm only told the status of the person in lane one.
At the moment I don't know if touching a lane select your team member in that lane, or targets the enemy, particularly since though your team attacks automatically, you can attack each lane.

I gather that I need to basically select actions for my team vs the enemy team, however I'm not entirely sure at this point how to do that or get the status of my team as opposed to the enemies, and I haven't even messed with kick and punch mode or item use yet.

it would be really helpful if there was a clearer idea of firstly what of your actions did what, secondly how battles worked, and thirdly how your team is doing, since sometimes when I touch towards the bottom of the screen I get status info for my team, sometimes I don't, and even if I do I'm not really sure what to do about it, EG whether swiping left or right to change fighters will change a given fightetr.

Again, I suspect this game will be pretty awesome when it gets started, but I'm not entirely sure how things work so far, both in terms of help, and in terms of sound effects.

it's a shame, I'm loving the descriptions, use of stats and general ethos, and a fast action battler is certainly a fun idea, it might just be that the game needs a little more input on the help and/or some interface tweaks with regards to telling you what is going on when.

Edit: Okay just tried again and this time the game stalled, I tried touching the bottom of the screen to get my crew's stats, but was only told the life of the person in lane one, and then the game utterly stalled, and just kept saying "lane one peter, life 33 vs road runner life 44" I couldn't get any other information about different lanes and the timer stopped.

Again, both help and a little more information would be useful, and maybe a fix to the interface, EG perhaps the game could actually give you useful information about who is in what lane, rather than just saying "lane 1" "lane 2" etc, and if there is a pause button or something, give it a propper label.

Oh, and btw, the cards decks doesn't seem to work correctly either, in that sometimes selecting a fighter selects them, sometimes not, sometimes you can't deselect one and sometimes not, I think there might be some overlays with the labels and Vo there that could need looking at since sometimes it says the wrong fighter is selected and there doesn't seem to be a way of deselecting fighters other than by clearing the hole deck and starting again, then sometimes it says some fighters are selected who aren't.

I've been working a lot of time on this game and I set an ultimatum to release it before Christmas. I've been successful on releasing it but I not all the features nor the voice over testing were fulfilled on time. Next versions will come shortly with missing features and, with your help, some improvement on the explanations and the general use of the game. I understand that tests should be made always before releasing the game, but some active user help has worked for me in the past with FruitPot game. Thanks for your understanding and support.

Hi.

Well fruitpot was a fantastic game, a shame Apple decided to be silly about it, so I have every confidence in the interface issues being ironed out and look forward to seeing improvements.

I've now also tried the kick and punch mode and that one makes a bit more sense to me in terms of you always targeting the same opponent, though I'm not entirely sure at this point how your supposed defend yourself from getting hammered.
Also, though I selected a tougher fighter, the game didn't seem to accept that select which was annoying, so I was almost bound to lose, indeed it would be nice to have a way to discard weak fighters since it seems in the game there are loads of gang members, but only a few who might be worth spending your stars to improve the skills of.

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I was a beta tester for this game. Did the random crashes ever stop, I got no updates after the one from July or so of this year on my old old iPhone 6. Lol! Tis was when using the buttons to throw the boot etc. Or the app would just randomally crash when I was chilling somewhare else.

By Earle on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I can't get the gestures to work on a consistent basis. They are very hit and miss for me. I really hope another way can be found to make the gestures work. I can visualize how they need to be performed in my head, but when I attempt to use the gestures they hardly ever work for me This is an awesome game and I played it in beta. I'm just finding the gesture problem very frustrating. Keep up the great work and I look forward to future updates.

I just downloaded this game. It seems really awesome from the description and I cannot wait to try it.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Hello, version 1.01 is already available to download with some improvements.
Gestures should be now more reliable and a whisper tells the action applied.
Explanations during the fights should help you figure out what’s happening and best next move.
There should be no crashes getting hardware.
As suggestions to win battles:
1. follow the instructions of the sportscasters as soon as possible.
2. force attack a lane until the opponent is defeated.
3. improve your card deck with the fighters that you get in every fight, letting go the weaker ones.
4. spend the stars increasing the cards skills in Tag team.

You will probably experience some random bug or a crash now and then, sorry for that, don’t forget to tell me in this thread or at fruitpot@icloud.com
Have a nice day.

Is there a place where we can learn the gestures? I was in the beta and used coach mode. This is radically different to what we were beta testing in august. So a bit of help would be much appreciated.

Take care

By Ornella on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I'm requesting the same thing as the post above. Like I'm playing the game and I don't know what I'm doing. Yesterday I was going to tell you that the app would crash but there was already a new update so wasn't necessary.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Hello, you should find a "learn gestures" button inside the help of the main menu, and both battle modes. This button opens a new page with some labels and a square in the middle of the screen where you can practice the gestures. Note that not all gestures are the same in both modes, that's why you can switch the mode inside this practice page. Last button before the square tells you what movement you should practice, tapping it switches between all possible gestures. All the movements are simple horizontal or vertical swipes over the square. A whisper will tell you also if your gesture was read correctly. You probably need some practice but I hope it helps you all to master all the gestures in no time. Tell me any difficulties you find.

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Yeah, that screen is actually quite confusing. I tried to use it but I still don't really get how it works.

By mojsior on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Hi.
I am trying to practice some gestures but I dont understand the layout of the screen.
When I am pressing which should tells me what gesture i need to learn I hear a name of the attack and some numbers which I dont understand what means.
I dont understand what is the difference between two modes gang and puch mode.
Sorry I dont remember a name of this second mode.
I have beat first mission but I dont know how I was done this.
I have done some swipes left right or up across the screen.
But I can not beat a second mission.
I need some explanation step by step how this game works.
The best solution will be any podcast.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Hi, you are right, there's no good description of the gestures or the game in general, also the "learn gestures" is not sufficient. I'll try to summarize all the game controls.
There are two game modes. Smash the gangs, with your whole card deck of fighters against a gang of bandits. And kick and punch, one fighter against one bandit.
Smash the gangs: three of your cards fight one on one against three bandits on three different lanes. The rest of your deck lays aside waiting to be swapped and recovering their lives. All the game works automatically, your cards attack the bandits and vice-versa, automatic attacks occur at a frequency defined by the card speed skill, life is lost depending on attackers' power and defender stamina. If your cards have superior skills than the bandits, you'll probably win the battle without moving a finger. But that's not much fun, that's why you can force your fighters to attack more often, throw objects and swap your cards before they run out of life. You can also apply coffee or snake oil to one card at a time. Coffee triples attack frequency; snake oil divides the damage that the card receives. So there are five possible gestures: attack, swap, throw, coffee, snake.
There is a square in the middle of the device divided into nine little squares like a number pad (with 1,2,3 on the upper line, 4,5,6 in the middle and 7,8,9 in the lower line). All gestures must be done in one stroke and are played when you lift your finger, if it's wrong you hear "no".
Attack gesture: if you swipe vertically up or down on the left side (like following numbers 1,4,7 on a number pad), your fighter on lane one attacks, do the same in the middle and lane two attacks, and on the right for lane three. After the attack, the lane becomes selected for all the other gestures.
Swap gesture: Having your desired lane selected with a previous attack, swipe horizontally from one end to the other, like following numbers 4,5,6 on a number pad. Your card will be swapped by the card who has more life.
Throw gesture: Also with a lane selected, if you have some hardware, you can throw it to the bandits by doing like a corner shape. Move from lower left vertically up and then to the right, like numbers 7,4,1,2,3.
Coffee gesture: Similar to previous, apply coffee (if you've got enough) by moving like an L from top left vertically down and then to the right, like numbers 1,4,7,8,9.
Snake oil gesture: Similar to previous but on the other side, apply snake oil by moving from top right vertically down and then to the left, like numbers 3,6,9,8,7.

Well, that's it for today, kick and punch will come tomorrow. I hope this helps many of you. Remember that controls are optional, to increase your chances of winning, you don't need to master all of them at once. Tell me please if this text helps, or what's still missing and if any gesture should be changed.

A podcast would be lovely but is impossible, because my poor English skills require an embarrassing amount of Google Translator.

By KE7ZUM on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

I could do it, but I would need to get used to the gestures first. Lol! Plus I have some IRL stuff to tend to first.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Kick and punch is a fight between your fighter and a single bandit. You can get there from the main menu, selecting a fighter and a bandit, or from inside the smash the gangs game, facing the bandit of a selected lane.
Beside basic punches and kicks, each fighter has its own kind of hits, like karate, some special kicks, and a specific combo hit, that's why the same gesture controls different hits depending on the fighter.
Punch gesture: if you swipe vertically up or down on the left side (like following numbers 1,4,7 on a number pad), your fighter punches with the left, do the same in the middle and it punches from a random side, and on the right (that's 3,6,9) punch with the right fist. Simple punches can be repeated quickly but don't cause much damage.
Kick gesture: swipe horizontally from one end to the other, like following numbers 4,5,6 on a number pad, is a kick with the left foot. Inverted movement: 6,5,4 is a kick with the right foot.
Special hit: karate or cross punch or slap are applied with a diagonal gesture: swipe from the lower-left corner to upper right to hit with the left hand, lower right to upper left hit with the right hand.
Throw gesture: Same gesture as in Smash the gangs, do like a corner shape. Move from lower left vertically up and then to the right, like numbers 7,4,1,2,3.
Combo hit gesture: Similar to previous but on the other side, swipe from low right vertically up and then to the left, like numbers 9,6,3,2,1.
Power hit gesture: To power Hit with the left hand swipe drawing an L from top left vertically down and then to the right, like numbers 1,4,7,8,9. Try the mirrored shape, like following numbers 3,6,9,8,7; to hit with the right hand
Remember that all gestures must be done in one stroke and are played when you lift your finger, if it's wrong you hear "no", and you have to start over.
I'll improve the in-game help adding this info to the practice gestures. Please Give me feedback on how all these gestures work. Also, tell me please what more information should be given during the smash the gangs mode to get a good idea of what's happening in the battle.
I hope this helps, have a nice day.

By Eduardo FruitPot on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

Hello there, this time the update doesn't come with new additions, but hopefully, many of the crashes will be eradicated, also some annoying bugs are solved, and the practice gestures screen should be more useful now. As always, don't hesitate to tell me all the problems you find in the game, here or by email (fruitpot@icloud.com). I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

By cityhall on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

when i was in beta, i always love applying coffee button, apply snake oil, throw haqdware button was so comfortable.
so can you please add the option to use gestures or use buttons?

In next week's version, I will add "coffee", "snake", "throw" and, "kick and punch" buttons after the hints button in the "smash the gangs" game; and "throw" after the gestures panel in "kick and punch" mode. These buttons will tell the remaining amount and activate the action after selecting the lane. Nevertheless, I strongly suggest that you try to practice the gestures because once mastered, they provide much faster control. I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

By cityhall on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 - 06:21

i really appreciate your help.

Hello.
Thanks for this awesome game, but regarding the deck manager, its kind of confusing when selecting fighters.
