Weather Gods Notification Problems (again)

Hi All,

I'm sorry to say that once again we are suffering from IBM service problems around push notifications.

From our side, we see about 30% of the notifications fail to send.

IBM have investigated, confirm a problem, but can't fathom out the cause.

I can only apologise and hope they get to the bottom of the problem soon.

Scott

Thanks Holger, the iOS13.3 fix should fix the watch issues. I have made no changes to Weather Gods and the Mickey / Minnie watch faces now work for me.

Weather Gods 2.3 update will now be after Christmas. My day job has been quite intense and exhausting with little time for Weather Gods unfortunately.

However, I am happy to add anyone who wants to beta test prior to the 2.3 update - it seems pretty stable.

It does not show up on the Mickey Mouse face. In OS 6.1.1 when I go to select WG AKL Bella the cat, Do not see wg. I see weather, weather condition and wind. Also Using iOS 13.3.

Interesting. In series 5, when on Mickey Mouse and you are selecting WG, it does not show up. However when I went to iPhone, and Mickey Mouse face and selected WG it did show up. I went back and check in watch. It is there. Strange but it works. FYI for anyone else just do it from iPhone and not watch. Thanks Scott. Long Live WG.

Ah, I should have said Holger, I always setup from the phone now as I find it more reliable.

Glad it's working.

I haven't had any word from IBM about a fix, however, my monitors indicate the problem is solved.

Hopefully it's a permanent fix.

Fingers crossed.

Hi All,

Sorry to report that once again push notifications are broken on the IBM cloud platform.

I have pushed the ticket back to IBM.

I can only apologise for the inconvenience and I think my next work on the app is migrating to a different company for cloud services, IBM are too unreliable.

OH! finally i can use this app without a vpn if the cloud provider is changed.
IBM and google block connections from iran no matter what, microsoft and amazon are more kinder, they let us connect but just don't let us to host anything on their platforms, which sounds more fair at least.

No issues with my notification here in Chicago. Works well with series 5. When the new update is coming out? I thought it will be out this month. PS my cat Bella likes the sounds.

Hi Holger,

Unfortunately everything has conspired against me for an update before December. It's getting close now, and if yourself or anyone would like to try the beta then I'm more than happy to add you to the beta testing group.

Sorry this keeps happening Scott.
I don't blame you for wanting to move to another cloud service like maybe Aws. where your weather alerts are. Because knock on wood, I haven't seen a post here about severe alerts being broken. (knocking on wood)

And for Holger or anyone else considering beta testing, it's stable. I've been beta testing since 2.0. And when I say jump in without hesitation, I don't mean that lightly. Because usually, I do not do beta testing. For anything. For obvious reasons. But Weather Gods is my exception to the rule. So if you are considering beta testing, it's stable, I've had no issues on my device & it's running the latest version of both Weather Gods & Ipad-OS.

Hope things get fixed soon! Hope you have a good Christmas & New Year Scott!! :-)
I can't wait to see what the gods have in store for us in 2020! :-)

Just downloaded the beta. Like how it now shows the name of my neighborhood. Cool. I like it and it feels more clean and organize. It is great so far.
