Bring your notes and audio together with Noted
Noted is a fully-integrated audio recording and note-taking app. Perfect for lectures, meetings, interviews and conferences, everything you type is time-stamped to your audio recording – giving you an instant overview of all the important details.
By bringing them together, you never need to worry about trawling through pages of notes or hours of audio ever again. Just add a #TimeTag, so you can return to key moments instantly, and keep everything neat and tidy.

Accessibility Comments

All settings are easy to view and change. The note-taking payne is a standard text entry field, and the recording/playback controls sit above it, along with a button that brings up a list of time stamps in the note/recording that jumps playback and text-editing position. Type or hit the button to insert a "#time" tag while writing, and a time stamp will be added to the note. To navigate quickly, there is a "tags" item on the rotor that jumps the cursor. To then jump the audio playback as well, change the rotor to "lines" and flick down: VO will read the time stamp line. Flick down again and VO will read the option to adjust the playback position.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver, but the interface could be easier to navigate and use.

Other Comments

The free version is limited to 5 notes. Otherwise, there's a subscription that provides unlimited notes and provides advanced playback functions like skipping passages without speech. For someone in a heavy note-taking environment like college, it fills a key role. I will probably do fine on the 5 free notes.

Thought I'd lob this app up there, though I don't plan to be a heavy user of it. I did encounter several crashes while testing, mainly when double-tapping the notes payne before I got the hang of how the app works. Eventually, OneNote will bring syncing of audio with text in real-time to the IOS/IPad versions, since it's a much-loved feature on Windows. The Notability app also syncs playback with one's position in the text, but I couldn't find any info about its accessibility.

I'm a bit confused by your comment. I thought accessibility was in the app section for this app entry, if that makes sense.

The comment refers to not knowing about the accessibility of Notability, a different app I found with similar functionality that people might want to explore other than this one. The accessibility comments in the app directory entry are intended to help get someone started with the "Noted" app, since I almost gave up on it before figuring out the trick. All of these apps have ridiculously similar names, do they not? Makes it impossible to search them out in AppleVis forums.

Trying this app out now and I have to say it's quite easy to use. I don't like the fact I have to tap the time tag every time I want to create one. Wish there were an easier way like for me to type something via my keyboard into the note for it to be converted into a time tag with time stamp, that part it could probably do automatically. I'm trying the premium for a week but not sure i'll get it yet as I'm not going back to school. I can see where this might be useful though.

By george, I got it.

1. Launch the app,
2. Tap the notebook you want to play with.
3. Tap the note, or create a new one.
4. Tap begin record. I'm sure you can take notes in the field only, that I'm not sure about.
5. Start typing and when you want to add a time tag
6. Create it with the number sign so #ThisIsATimeTag or #testing

It will actually index for you. Cool eh? I had the app crash but my note saved.

Ok, one more question. I tried to record on the watch today but the app just causes my watch to lag. I will be contacting the developers about this, my goal is to add time tags on the app on the phone without using the watch and when I append or import the watch recording I would want the time stamps to actually exist. Is this how it works? If not what is the purpose of the record using watch and how can the apps both be used?

I did report all of these bugs to the developer and hope he can fix all of these issues. The app is good and I might end up keeping my premium subscrfiption. It worked the last time I did this so yeah there you go.
