Apple has today released iOS 13.1.1 and iPadOS 13.1.1 to fix a small number of bugs and address one security vulnerability.
According to Apple's release notes, the iOS 13.1.1 update addresses the following bugs:
- Fixes issues that could prevent iPhone restoring from backup
- Addresses an issue that could cause battery to drain more quickly
- Fixes an issue that could impact recognition of Siri requests on iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
- Addresses an issue that could cause Reminders to sync slowly
- Fixes a security issue for third-party keyboard apps
With these updates coming just 3 days after the releases of iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1, it is likely that these are minor releases focusing on the above fixes and security vulnerability.
However, if you find any fixes, enhancements or regressions for blind and low vision users, do please let us know by posting a comment below.
iOS 13.1.1 and iPadOS 13.1.1 are available via Over-the-Air Update (Settings > General > Software Update) or via iTunes on a Mac or PC.
Before updating, we strongly recommend making a full and complete backup of your device (either in iTunes or iCloud, depending on personal preference). This will ensure that, in the unlikely event that something goes wrong during the update process, you will have a current backup on hand in case a device restore becomes necessary. Also, if using OTA update, we recommend plugging your device into a power source for the duration of the download/installation process, so as to prevent the unlikely event of your battery going dead during the update.
More information on how to update the software on your device is available on this Apple Support page.

Keyboards!
The improvements to third party keyboards definitely only seem to be related to permissions issue. FlickType issues related to 13.1 still exist. Just a heads up!
Battery still draining
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? I've installed this latest update. The battery is still draining alarmingly fast. I don't noticeany difference to be honest, it's just like before.
Battery Optimization.
@BingoLittle, I found an increase in longer battery when I turned off Battery Optimization. Have you tried that?
Yes
I have tried it yes. The drain on locked screen isn’t as dramatic, but when using the phone it still drains very quickly. I had a word with Apple who did a diagnostics test and could find nothing amiss. I have prevented the display from adjusting to true tone, and of course I have screen curtain on. I have tried restoring the iPhone and unfortunately that hasn’t worked either. Running out of ideas here.
Battery
My iPhone SE is so lovely, but I also have issues with its Battery and sometimes it shuts down even if Charge is 20 % and more.
I think it is a hardware bug and could also be in your case if your model is an older device.
I have reverted to IOS 12.4.1
It is a pity,The new IOS brings a lot of features to be pleasantly surprised, but the experience of some basic operations has become very bad.For example, the notification center is unstable,The voiceover will not respond after ending the facetime call,Chinese sounds often miss some characters when reading text,Chinese keyboard is often stuck when inputting.Even the touch of the top status bar has become a difficult task. So, I chose to go back to that more stable version.I think maybe I have to wait until 13.2 or even 13.3 to fix some of the bugs I mentioned above.

How old is your IPhone SE?
Possible bug
Whenever I am listening to a audiobook from bard mobile, using 2 fingers double tap sometimes does not work. I had not use it for music so do not know. Anyone is having issue with this?
Bluetooth speakers and VoiceOver
I found this issue since I updated to 13.1.1.
Whenever I connect a Bluetooth speaker to my phone the music and audiobooks come through the speaker okay but the voice-over still comes through the phone speakers. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so is there a workaround for it?
I’ve tried it on both my Amazon echo speakers also on A Bose micro Sound link speaker. i’m using an iPhone 8
Not a bug
I think is not a bug. It is nice not having VO coming from speaker. I can check message or mail via VO and the music still play.
Not trying to sound like a
Not trying to sound like a jerk or hater or anything. I just have been observing this IOS 13 release as an outsider. I'm actually thinking about getting an iPhone again in a few months but from what I have seen with voiceover and IOS 13 makes me kinda glad I don't use an IOS device right now. Again, no hate toward Apple but to me, this IOS 13 roll out has seemed really rough for accessibility users. But I will say this, I'm sure in Apple fashion, they will be ironed out as well. Hoping this is the case. This is kind of reminding me of IOS 11 a bit. I guess it just shows how much changing the code in something can affect something else totally different. I don't envy the people who have to squash these bugs. But it seems like Apple is trying to iron things out very quick. I did not realize it was already on 13.1.1.
Same Issues With Bluetooth Speakers
When I noticed the Iphone not getting properly connected to Bluetooth speakers or headphones, I first thought it was some setting I hadn't yet noticed both in IOS 13.1 & IOS 13.1.1. Like others, while using either Bluetooth Speakers or Headphones, Voiceover is still routed to the phone while whatever media I'm playing goes to the external audio device as expected. It doesn't happen all the time with headphones but does with spekaers. The problem with thie behaviour with headphones is that with noise cancelling, I can't hear any voiceover information from the phone unless I remove the headphones. Apparently, apple allows no roll back with this upgrade and if so, how and where does one do so.
strongly disagree with holger
Since the user has no choice as to this probable new feature, it is most certainly a most bothersom and annoying bug inasmuch as the user has no choice (should be adjustable in settings) as to whether or not Voiceover is routed to the phone or external device when using Bluetooth for speaker or headset connection.
iOS 13.1.1.2
Check if the new update fixes. I hope that is a choice because I like VO coming from my phone when I use speaker.
re-Bluetooth speakers
I just updated to I OS 13.1.2 and it doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Just notifying. glad I’m not the only one experiencing this. :-)
How do you downgrade?,
Subject line says it all. I'm fed up of this battery drain lark and it's one option to consider. Not a jailbreak fan though.
downgrading
I looked into this myself last night funnily enough. Apparently it involves going onto a website on the computer downloading a file and resetting the phone or something. Just Google downgrading iOS and something should come up. Personally, I’m thinking of making the switch but I’m not totally sure. Good luck. :-)
