iOS and iPadOS

I just updated to my new iPhone 11. No issues except for one. My Money Reader app won’t redownload. It tells me that it’s no longer available.
Has anybody used another? The couple I found sound a little sketchy!!
Thanks for any assistance.

Seeing AI might work for you depending on what currency you are using.

search for Cash Reader on the App Store. It is multilingual app and recognizes more than 50 world currency‘s. I really like it. It is fast and accurate.
I don’t have the link, but I will paste the name, the description and the provider.
Cash Reader: Bill Identifier
Reads Money Value to the Blind
Provider, Hayaku s.r.o.

I completely forgot about Seeing AI could do currency. Thank you both for suggestions.
I had Money Reader for years. No updates for a long time, but no issues... until now.
Thanks again,
JP

Cash reader will replace money reader, try it out. I love and bought the subscription.

I just noticed the same problem too after upgrading to a new phone. Money Reader was my go-to currency app because it was fast, reliable, supported many countries, and it continued speaking the money amount repeatedly as long as the bill was in front of the camera. I haven't settled on a good replacement yet, but here are the three replacement candidates I have found so far:

INote: from the U. S. Bureau of Engraving is free and works ok. Its flaws are that sometimes it is slow in reading a bill, doesn't repeat the money amount after the first reading, and I'm pretty sure it only identifies U.S. currency. I'm not sure why you would want this feature, but it always tells you if you have the front or the back of the bill facing the camera.

Seeing AI: It is free and it recognizes a few more currencies than just the U.S. dollar. I love this app for many of its other features, but not for identifying money. On my iPhone 7, it often takes from 5-10 seconds to warm up and start looking at money. I sometimes start to wonder if I am mistakenly giving it coupons instead of money to recognize, but after moving the paper back and forth it eventually recognizes the money. Its other potential drawback is that you need to swipe through and choose the currency channel before it will start recognizing. Though if you want to, you can reset the currency mode as the default channel when Seeing AI opens.

Cash Reader: I haven't tested it, it might be great, but it costs 18 dollars! I'll pay $5, maybe even $8, but $18 plus tax seems excessive to me. It supports many countries, so I will save my free trial offer of this app for when I go to South Africa in a few months.

That's all that I have found so far. Has anybody found any better money reading apps out there other than those three?

Please, if anyone knows the developers of Money Reader, ask them to put their app back on the App Store. I didn't pay very much for it, but I did buy it, and it is better than the alternatives I have found so far.

Cash reader is the way to go for currency id. I've used it several times and it works great. Sure the price is a little high, but for what it is I can safely say that it's worth it! Plus more countries are added whenever their is an update issued, so if you don't have it in your country, just ask the developer. I got it pretty much right after it was released since Nant mobile reader is dead.

I found the Cash Reader app. I’ll consider it in the future. I’m not using a reader often.
My issue spending that much isn’t the cost. It’s that developers often abandon their apps. Thanks for all the input.
