Some questions after updating to iOS 13

Dear team applevis:
Firstly, I would like to thank you all because this site really helped me to learn how to use my first IOS device after switching from android 5 months ago. I really love this site and all the content posted by the editorial team is amazing.

I updated my I Phone 6S to IOS 13 and its working fine barring few things which I wanted to ask.
I’m encountering 3 problems so far and I wanted to ask you all whether they are bugs or am I doing the process the wrong way.
They are:
1. While selecting a new language in the rotor settings by going into the speech settings for voiceover, when I swipe write to English India and double tap on it, nothing happens. However, when I tried the same thing with English US, it happened. I had downloaded Ava before updating and when I deleted it, it automatically switched to an Indian voice named Rishi but there still was no language under language option in voiceover.
2. When I go and select Siri female under English India voices and double tap on it, nothing happens. However if I do the same with Siri male, it does what it is supposed to do.
3. When I’m selecting the language in Voice control settings by double tapping it to change the language, nothing is happening. The language option is not activating.

I hope I’m able to explain the situation correctly.
My sincere apologies if I’m asking my doubts at a wrong place. Since I’m quite new I don’t really know how to contact the editorial team except the forum. I wanted to know whether what I’m experiencing are bugs or am I doing something wrong.

Thank you so much in advance

Khushi

Unfortunately, the new version of the female Siri voice is only available in the US right now. I do not know if Apple plans on rolling out for more locations or not, though they probably will at some point. I believe the original female Siri voice should still be available for you, however.

HTH

Hello Khushi, I want to tell you that it’s quite a sometime that I have been using iOS 13 public betas. But I can tell you that from beginning indian Siri female or male voice is not working as a voiceover voice. I have submitted the feedback to Apple from feedback assistant which is provided to iOS 13 beta users

hi
thanks a lot for doing that.
I guess the male voice is fine since there is a download button out there for it but not for female.
hope it gets resolved in 13.1.

I notice when I selected a voice you could not do anything until you restarted the iPhone. The voice you select will work.

what about the first and the third problems?
are they also bugs like the second one?

I cannot add a new language English India for the rotor. but if you just go ahead and try to add any other language like English US or UK, you are able to do it perfectly like before.

Tried restarting the phone, changed language from English US to English India from Region and Language settings, etc. but it's not working. Indian Siri voices also are not working with VO although I could download both the voices. It also seems to me that the Rishi voice and the male Indian Siri voice are the same.

Voice control is only available in English, so the language selection doesn’t do anything

dear all, thank you for all your replies.
I would just like to inform you that I can now add the rotor language after updating to IOS 13.1 but the Indian Siri voice as a voiceover bug has not yet been fixed by apple.

thank you
