Reading text messages sent to an iPhone on a PC

The only thing I miss about using a MacBook is being able to read and respond to my text messages on it. I dislike typing longer messages on the iPhone screen and hate using dictation but using windows serves my needs better.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the only way to see my text messages in windows is to either jailbreak my phone or to turn off iMessages and see my texts on AT&T’s website? I wouldn’t mind turning off iMessage and using my carrier’s website but it only shows the phone number and if you want to send a message you don’t have a contact list. Am I missing anything? Does anyone have any suggestions I haven’t thought of?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jail break? Seriously?
Sadly, there is no way to receive I messages or text messages from a phone to a pc. If you had an android device, Microsoft allows this to happen, but not with apple, yet. The best you can do is share webpages with your PC and your IPhone if you use edge.
