odd issue turning on IPhone

My fairly new IPhone 6S Plus (just bought it in early July) has begun doing something odd recently. I'll turn my phone off at night, and when I go to turn it on in the morning, nothing will happen. The only way I can get it to actually turn on is to plug in the power adapter then hold down the power button, and it'll fire right off. Once it's powered on, I can then unplug the adapter and it continues to run perfectly fine, and the battery shows 94% remaining, so it's not like the battery was dead. Any idea what could be happening here and how to get it to power up correctly without needing to plug it in? Thanks.

Presumably it’s under warrantee if you only got it in July. I’d ask for a replacement.
Erase and restore might work but probably not.
Does it work if switched off and on again during the day?

I have that same problem sometimes.

For me, it will boot up, but then power off.

When I power it back on, it will tell me low battery and prompt me to turn on low power mode, even though I know my battery is full.

My situation is probably different, since I bought mine a few months after the 6S was released.

I'm going to see if it can hold on for another year, if not, I'll probably just bight the bullet and get this years model, which I'm hearing has an ugly design.

Next year's models are apparently the ones most people are holding out for.

Agree Take it to apple if they even support the 6s anymore and see if you can get a replacement phone.

No, still have to insert the power cord to get it to turn on, then it runs fine off batteries after it's loaded. But here's an odd twist, after doing some Googling last night, somebody with exactly the same description of issues was recommended to do a soft reset, so I thought I'd give it a try. Powered right up without needing to be connected to power. Shutting it down then trying to power it up normally still resulted in no dice, but twice more no problem firing up when doing the soft reset. I haven't installed any new apps in like 3 or 4 weeks, long before this behavior began like 3 days ago, haven't dropped it, no exposure to moisture, and it seems to be discharging normally from battery once it does load and otherwise operating fine.
