Apple Watch and waterproof jackets!

When wearing my Watch under a waterproof jacket, in the rain, the fabric activates the device. It will start talking, and haptic feedback is coming through my wrist. there is no water on the watch, and this happens with several jackets. Is there a way of preventing this? If I'm on a long walk or bike ride and my Watch is talking all the time I'm concerned that the battery will run down too quickly, and that my jacket may activate other functions that I don't want running. Thanks.

This also happen when I have a jacket or long shirt. Probably to do with the sensitivity of the watch. I am not using what you mention. Just using the watch 3 and it does happen.

Hi,
I wonder whether the watch activation you describe is simply caused by contact from your sleeves rotating the watch crown.
You can disable wake on crown up by visiting Settings/General/Wake screen and toggling the setting for "Wake Screen on Crown Up".

Happens to me always.
Luckily, all workouts offer Water lock, even if it's not related to water. Just swipe right with two fingers on the main workout screen and tap lock. Later turn the crown to unlock. That works always for me.
