Apple has today released iOS 26.4.2 and iPadOS 26.4.2, bringing unspecified bug fixes and security updates.

As iOS 26.4.2 and iPadOS 26.4.2 were not distributed to external testers prior to their release, we do not have any information on whether they contain any accessibility fixes for blind, deaf blind, or low vision users at the time of writing. However, as these updates appear to have been released to address a small number of specific issues, we do not expect them to contain any such fixes.

I’m going to go ahead and get it right now for my iPhone 15. I’ll need to charge up my iPhone SE third generation to give it some more battery before I can go ahead and update that but I’ll let you guys know how it goes. Since it’s just security, I hope it will be fine. Should be though.

Everything looks good in my iPhone SE 2022. I haven’t updated iPhone 15 yet as I’m charging it. I will come back here and let you know how it is on there. Granted it’s just a security update but anything can happen. Thankfully, this update went off without a hitch.

Hi, I have an iPhone 14 plus running ios 18.6.2 and in Notes, I notice that when I use dictation, The first word after a "." is not Capitalized. If I start dictation after writing one sentence, then it will be capitalized but not when I dictate multiple sentences. Anyone know if dictation is better in ios 26.4.2?
I haven't updated to 26 because I saw many articles saying to stay on ios 18 for older phones like the 14 plus.
Appreciate any feedback on this.
Thank you

Hi everyone,

So after testing iOS 26.4.2, it appears that VoiceOver now reads incoming notifications when they come through.

Please continue to submit comments about the update.

Well I got it, is faster and very responsive but the same issue with VO not reading notifications all the way or when sliding to each notification, VO does not read it. Maybe iOS 27? Hope so. LLC.

Hi, I finally updated my iPhone 15 just now. Everything looks good on it so far. I didn’t really expect that to be too many issues as it’s just a security update, but you know, as we know with updating any software you just never know. One of my friends had issues with acting up after she had done this update. She’s managed to get it working again, but you just never know. I’m happy to report back here to say that my iPhone 15 looks good. Got both of my devices running iOS 26.4.2. I wonder if Apple is going to introduce any new features with any of our single plant releases this year or if we’re getting more of a new features once iOS 27 comes around in the fall. But either way I’m happy my devices are working properly and I hope everybody else is they are too.
