Listening for new quests would be an option. You never know what could drop in. I am not worried about finishing the prelude right now. I want to upgrade companions and real estate. I guess you can decide how you want to go about in the game. Some people may want to travel, others may want to go and get better ranks and others look for wealth and/or rare items.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Actually I was talking about Legendary items specifically. I have the original entry to locate the Scout's Amulet and I know the area it drops, but don't know if I need to unlock all the other journal entries which provide hints.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

In reply to by Nolly

Yes, of course. For all we know, you could find those legendary items by taking different quests. Who knows? Maybe you need to be able to play those mini games, too. Until the developer gives us a new update, all we can do is keep playing and hope that an item such as the legendary ones will drop. I am enjoying this game. I think it's really awesome.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I know how to obtain the Scout's Amulet. It drops from one specific quest. I just want to know if I need to do every step i.e. unlocking all of (lore research) the journal clue entries to trigger the chance for it to drop and obtain it, or is the original journal entry all I need.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

You need to do research in order to unlock hints about the locations for legendary items. Furthermore, there are companions that you can purchase that will up your chances for legendary item drops.

By vulcansummer on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

So I've been able to go to the grass lands and have done the quest there several times. But now I seem to be stuck and can't progress any further. I have gold, but can't see anything helpful to buy. When I tap on the real estate button I don't see any kind of real estate to buy.
Also, it says to use the lore fragments to find clues in the journal, but No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the lore fragments to work. Also, what does auto-equip mean in the hero tab?
I'm sorry I have so many questions, but I'm just struggling with the game a bit.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Progressing - To be able to travel past the Grass lands you need to reach level 2. This is obtained by gaining 20 in any of the 3 stats (Strength, Dextarity, or Intelligence) via equipment. Once you have reached level 2 it will tell you to continue on to the next area. Something to note is that in the F.A.Q section it mentions that level two takes 20 in any one stat to gain, after that every level up takes 25 additional stat points i.e. 20 Int = level 2, 45 Int = level 3, 70 Int = level 4.

Real Estate and using Gold - Real Estate is obtained by the shops in town. Your first is available in Tarrock. The "Real Estate" you are clicking on is most likely in your Hero tab, which only shows you the real estate items you own.
Gold can be used in towns as well. Tarrock has a shop with several companions and a real estate item to purchase. Head there and you will be able to spend some of it.

Lore Fragments - Currently lore fragment mini games are not voice over accessible )Doesn't show colored dots). They are used to find Legendary items by opening up hidden journal entries for each item once the starter entry for that item has been discovered. For example, once the Scout's Amulet quest is in your journal there are three hidden entrie hints telling you where it's located, which must be unlocked by using lore fragments or their higher counterparts. They are also needed to upgrade certain items like the previously mentioned legendary items.

Auto equip - Auto equip does exactly as it says, but since you only have one type of gear you are not going to see it do much of anything. It will automatically change your gear to the highest value of the type you click on. For example, if you are wearing dexterity gear but are about to do a strength quest, you can click the auto equip strength button and it will equip your best gear for strength. There are also buttons that are not labeled on the map tab that will auto equip your gear as well.

By vulcansummer on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Thanks much for your help, Nolly. So even though I have reached level two, it doesn't tell me what to do next. I looked in the journal but couldn't find any hints.
Also, how do I know what kind of an ability a quest will take, such as strength or intelligence?
It seems like I have a lot of intelligence in the game, but nothing else? How do I get other abilities?
I've only been able to go on the one quest at the grass lands. How do I find more?
Also, it seems like once I earned two hundred gold, even though I went on a quest to earn more money, my gold level stayed at the same amount.
Also, there is an upgrade to level two. I thought I was already at level two. Still, I bought the upgrade, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything.
I did read the help section, I promise, it's just for some reason this game is hard for me to comprehend.

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

You can upgrade your items to higher levels And you can also go up in levels as a character in the game but also items you buy can be levelled up. So for example just because you level up or upgrade your small chest does not mean you get levelled up yourself. Also, just because you get a certain level of item in a quest does not mean you are actually on that level. As for other abilities you only have intelligence for the first three or four levels and then you will start getting quests that will allow you to get other abilities in the higher levels.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I'm sorry if it appeared that I implied that you had not read the help section, I had merely added it for contextual reasons.

Once you've reached level 2 and are in the Grassland it should give you the option to move on to another area. I am not 100% sure but I believe it is the beach. Try swiping and turning off and on voice over while at the Grassland and if that doesn't show you a dialogue that you should continue on try completely closing the app via the app switcher. As for knowing which attribute a quest drops as well as is needed to complete, that can be found by reading the brief description of the quest just before the accept option. It should tell you your chance of succeeding, the average level of items that drop, the type of stat needed to complete, the base gold that drops, the level of the quest, and the duration the quest will take to complete. The Grassland was a bit tricky for me since the dialogue that I should move on didn't appear at first, having to swipe among other things to get it to show up. It tends to happen in areas that either require an item to unlock or had needed an item to unlock it.

The reason you could not gain an amount of gold above 200 is because you reached your maximum of gold you can currently carry. It is 100 base gold and 100 for owning the small chest,. As far as upgrading, you most likely upgraded your small chest to level 2, which gives you an additional maximum of 100 which should now should be a total of 300 gold all together.

By vulcansummer on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Nolly,
You didn't imply that I didn't read the help section. I only wanted to add it in there in case people thought I was not looking properly at it.
You have been so helpful. and I really appreciate your patience.
I'll try to get to another place from the grass lands using your suggestions.
Also, thank you Jessica Brown, for your knowledge as well.

Vulcan, remember to listen to every quest before you take it in order to know what kind of ability you need. For example, if it is an intelligence quest, you need to go to the hero tab and double tap on items and then you will look for the button that says auto equip highest. You double tap on that button and a window should appear and it will prompt you to confirm if you want to do it. Double tap on auto equip and you will be ready to do the quest. The same needs to be done when it tells you that it is a strength quest, dexterity quest, etc. By auto equipping the highest items your chances of success will increase. I hope that helps.
Cheers.

By JTran2013 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I really like the accessibility improvements with the new update! Is there a way to tell exactly which rooms are correct and which ones are not correct when researching? The number of red markers and white ones are great to know and very accessible with Voice Over. I need more detailed info. to try to solve the puzzles. I'm not complaining at all! Keep up the great work! I thoroughly enjoy the game! It's fun and challenging!

By Ray Rucker on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

How do I get to the cliff look out? I got the spyglass from smugglers cove, but the cliff look out is still locked.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Even though it may say locked you can still click on it to bring up the menu to "Unlock and travel". If that doesn't work you can try traveling to another location before attempting to travel to the lookout. I know certain areas are not accessible unless you attempt from a certain location i.e. Jungle Outpost.

No, it won't directly tell you which rune is in the correct spot, but you can easily learn a few methods to figure out the solution.

By Aaron Vernon on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I hope you all enjoy the 3.1.0 update, I tried to make the game as accessible as possible! Let me know here or via email if you have further suggestions.

The game will still be a challenge as intended but you are now on an level playing field with the rest of the players.

If you have enjoyed the game or this update and want to show your support, then please leave me a rating or review via the Help tab in the game!

Thanks

Aaron

The game is excellent. I really like it. Keep up the good work. This is a wonderful update.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Now that you have implemented accessibility, it is now time for me to uphold my end of the bargain. That being said, you've found yourself a buyer.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I will definitely buy the chapters, too. The accessibility is excellent and now I am enjoying this game so much more. Thank you, Aaron, for having made Land of Livia fully accessible. Keep up the fantastic work. I look forward to continue playing this game and to see where it takes us.
Cheers.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Anyone else finding the gem cutting extremely difficult even with the update? As soon as I hit the cut for $XXXX gold it starts and I find myself missing a couple of chimes before I can even find the cut button. Then when I do my cuts are off beat due to the double tapping. I tried doing a split tap, but I again have issues locating the cut button, and by the time I find the button I'm getting the failed dialogue. Anyone have a suggestion on how to find the button, or at least get ready faster once it starts? I'm quickly running out of gems and gold just trying to practice finding out the best way to find and press the cut button once it starts.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I usually just find the cut button by exploring with my finger. Next, I just let my finger rest on the button and when I hear the beep I do a split tap. Once my finger is on the button I don't leave. Like you said, even with the update it is still quite difficult because even cutting correctly does not guarantee success it seems. Also, you don't have to react when hearing the first beep. If you somehow missed a beep, wait for the next one. Take your time.

I dont understand how lore researching works and how to solve the runes. Please help.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

**Spoilers ahead of a method I came up with for process of elimination for winning the mini game.

**

** Read all the way through. Equip all your best Lore items as well before attempting the mini game. It can give you more guesses if your lore is high enough.

I know most of you probably are already familiar with this game, but for those who aren't here is a very brief objective description. To play the game you must have 3 pieces of the same type )5%, 25%, 7and 65%).

The object is to guess the correct order of the solution, which can either contain all different runes or multiples of certain runes and single runes of others. A red dot or marker tells you that that one of the runes is in the solution and that the rune is in the correct slot. A white marker means you have a rune in the solution, but it is in the incorrect slot. It won't tell you which is correct or in the solution, so you have to use a process of elimination method which I will explain below.

Please note that I in no way guarantee this method will work for you, but I will also mention I have never failed a game. I have come very close, but so far the odds are in my favor.

Let's start with the easiest game which is trying to combine 3 of the 5% lore fragments. First start off with all of "Rune A" in all four slots. Hit guess and take note of how many red or white markers it informs you have in your guess. Change all 4 runes to "Rune B" and hit guess. You don't need to go all the way through to the "Rune F", as you should know before hand if F contains a rune in the solution. Eventually you will learn which runes are in the solution and how many of them as well.

Next you want to find out the position of a rune with only one rune in the solution. For this you need a rune that has only one of it's type in the solution and a rune that is completely not in the solution. Let's say that there is 1 "Rune A" in the solution and no "Rune B" in the solution. Place the "Rune A" in slot 1 and place "Rune B" in slots 2, 3 and 4. Hit guess. Continue to do this until you discover which slot "Rune A" correctly belongs in. It shouldn't take you more than 3 guess, because if it is not in the correct slot by the time you hit slot 3, you will know it belongs in slot 4.

Once you find out which slot "Rune A" belongs in do the same with the next rune that is in the solution, but also make sure to keep "Rune A" in the correct slot because if you accidently stumble onto the correct order it will take one guess less.Let's say "Rune C" is has one rune in the solution, you would now place "Rune C" ina slot that doesn't contain "Rune A" and also place "Rune B" in the ramining two slots which should look something like this if "Rune A" belongs in slot 4. Rune C, Rune B, Rune B, Rune A.

Eventually you wil discover all of the correct locations with a few guesses to spare unless you get unlucky. I am writing this up hastily and will check it for errors once my son is off to school.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Usually I begin by making the default positions my very first guess. If I get no red dots on A, I change all positions to B. Once I get a red dot, I begin changing 1 to see how it effects the red dot. If the red dot does not disappear, I will keep changing that 1 until I eventually get 2 red dots. If I accidentally change 1 and the red dot disappears, I simply change that 1 back to where it was. Well, that's how I go about it. I hope it make sense., 21h 40m ago |

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I need help finding the scouts amulet. I have unlocked all the hints and yet I still can't find it.

Equip luck items before attempting to cut. If you don’t have any luck items I would suggest waiting until you get later in the game to attempt cutting. It is not necessary for the first few levels. I have been able to get quality in the 70s on my first couple cuts.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

My above explanation may be very confusing to some, so here is a mock mini game. For this game let's assume with lore gear we have 13 guesses and are attempting the easiest of the lore items, 3 5% fragmements..

Guess 1 Rune A - Rune A - Rune A - Rune A = 1 Red marker and zero white markers
Guess 2 Rune B - Rune B - Rune B - Rune B = zero red markers and zero white markers
Guess 3 Rune C - Rune C - Rune C - Rune C = 1 Red marker and zero white markers
Guess 4 Rune D - Rune D- Rune D - Rune D zero red markers and zero white markers
Guess 5 Rune E - Rune E - Rune E - Rune E = 1 red marker and zero white markers.

From this point we can stop trying to find out which markers are in the solution, as we now can easily see that it contains 1 rune of the following - Rune A, Rune C, Rune E, and by process of elimination we also know it contains Rune F.

To learn where the markers go we now do this. It is important to use a rune that is not in the solution as it will guarantee that you will learn the proper location of a rune after a few guesses.

Guess 6 Rune A - Rune B - Rune B- Rune B = Zero red markers and 1 white marker
Guess 7 Rune B - Rune A - Rune B - Rune B = zero red markers and 1 white marker
Guess 8 Rune B - Rune B - Rune A - Rune B = zero red markers and 1 white marker

We don't need to guess on the final slot with Rune A because we now know it has to go in the 4th and final slot. Continuing on to find the location of Rune C will go like this. Make sure to leave Rune A in the 4th slot, since we want to stumble onto the correct solution if we can, now that we know it goes there and will always show up as 1 red marker.

Guess 9 Rune C - Rune B - Rune B - Rune A = 1 red marker and 1 white marker

We know that the 1 red marker is Rune A as we already discovered it's location earlier. So from this we can see that if Rune A is the 1 red marker, then Rune C must be the white marker and in the wrong slot.

Guess 10 Rune B - Rune C - Rune B - Rune A = 1 red marker and 1 white marker.

This tells us the same as above, but by process of elimination we know Rune C goes in slot 3. The last two runes are going to be fairly easy to properly slot because they can only go in one of two orders, and you will now win in two guesses short of human error.

Guess 11 Rune E - Rune F - Rune C - Rune A = 2 red markers and 2 white markers

We already know Rune C and Rune A are properly placed, so all we need to do now is switch Rune E with Rune F to win.

Guess 12 Rune F - Rune E - Rune C - Rune A = 4 red markers anda successful game.

I took one of the most unlucky solutions for this game taking it directly down to the wire. There are of course other methods but this is what I use. This isn't what you always use as there are games in which certain runes can contain more than one of a type in the solution. This may seem to be more difficult, but it actually saves you a guess if that rune is discovered early on that has multiple markers.

I again in no way guarantee this will work for you, and you can even tweek it a bit to work more efficiently, which in many cases I do depending on the game. However this was just a very basic demonstration of one method to get used to the game as well as creating your own method.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Can you equip more than one item at a time on the same body part? For example, can I have two amulets around my neck? I highly doubt this is the case, but just wanted to make sure.

By Christel john on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

You can only equip 1

By vulcansummer on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Yes, That's what I assumed. Thank you.

By Aaron Vernon on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Thanks for the bug report Jessica, I will fix this in the next release!

Re Gem Cutting: you don't actually have to cut on the first sound, you can wait and then you will have subsequent chances. Visually there are several arcs rotating around circles that you are lining up with each Cut. That said I think I should auto select the Cut button on that screen and also delay the start a little bit, so I will do this in the next release. Lastly I have tried to balance the timing of the sound and the optimal time to cut so that it is possible to get a perfect cut using double tap.

Re Lore Researching: Nolly emailed me a great suggestion to improve the accessibility of the Lore Researching game which I plan to implement in the next release. Thanks Nolly for also providing those great tips above for players. The game can be quite tricky but once you get comfortable with a system it becomes a lot easier.

If it's the one where it says to click on the "best Strength" button, I believe it is bugged, as no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to the button. This is something new that I got just today with the most recent update on a separate device, because I didn't get this on my main device when I started playing with the previous version. Try closing out the app entirely from the app switcher. That is how I got it to let me proceed.

By Aaron Vernon on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Based on all the great feedback in this thread and the various emails I have received, I have made a bunch of accessibility improvements in 3.1.1. There are also even more planned for future releases.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENTS
● The tutorial hints can now be navigated seamlessly - apologies to those that had trouble getting stuck
● The current location is now auto selected when you dismiss alerts
● The gem cutting button is now auto selected when you enter the gem cutting screen
● Improved the hint on the gem cutting button to explain that you don't have to cut on the first sound - you can take your time and listen to the regular timing of the sound and then cut when you are ready
● The Lore Runes are now named using the Greek alphabet rather than English alphabet to improve usability

BUG FIXES
● Fixed bug where the accessibility label for the current location did not update correctly
● Fixed bug where the accessibility label for the researching runes were numbered incorrectly i.e. rune 6 rather than 5
● Fixed crash in the Campfire when there is no internet connection

This game just keeps getting better and better every time. I have already bought the two chapters even though I have yet to finish the prelude. Thank you, Aaron, for all the hard work you're putting into this excellent game.
Cheers.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

I have been cheating these last couple of days and eventually got caught out. As a result, I am now blocked from the leaderboards and rightfully so I guess. With that being said, if you care about the leaderboards don't cheat LOL. I guess I was just super curious and wanted to see ahead. I finished the prelude in 2 or 3 days.

By slj on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:24

Hi.
I have played the game like crazy for like five days, and I'm really enjoying the game. I can't stop playing... :)
I'm currently saving up for the ship, which is the last quest in my journal so far, accept for a few rumors which I don't know what to do about.
Here is some feedback which I hope will be taken to consideration in the future:
1. When donating a cup of coffee, you don't seem to get anything in the game. No gold, no upgrades etc. I don't mind donating because this game is simply fantastic and I look so much forward to start on chapter one as well, but if you get something for donating a cup of coffee, I think more people would consider this...
2. I mentioned this in a comment on Facebook as well, but it wouldn't hurt to mention it again, in case it's easier to take notes from comments from here rather than comments on Facebook: When you are traveling and you've reached a new location, Voiceover says "current location" both at your new location and your previous location. I don't know if it shows that on the screen as well, but it might confuse some players at the beginning.
3. I would like to see a training for cutting the gems. I lost 200 gold because I messed it up, don't know what to do or how to do it. I will give it a try again for sure, but it would be great to have a better explanation on how it works. Do I have to press "cut" in the same rhythm as the audio, or do I just have to press "cut" the same second I hear the audio? It's fair to make a challenging minigame where you can fail, but the explanation could be better on how to do this. However, all the other help files are very well done. Huge thumbs up for that.
4. The campfires: I'm not sure on how I like those. I would like to see a friends list, where you could add people to your own friends list, and be able to look for other players instead. Maybe the campfires could be location based, so instead the ID, you will see the people who are near the campfire instead. I mean, so you could have a chat with the people who are actually in the same city like you. Maybe have both systems, a private chat and a public chat, where the ID is skipped and changed to location based instead. I think that would make the social activities more pobular in the game. I'm not sure on what the plans are for the game in the future, but if more online features are planned, it would be awesome to have quests, which requires two or three people at the same time to solve the quest. that would bring the players more together for sure.
5. Referral links: I also mentioned that in my comment on Facebook, but it wouldn't hurt to mention it here, just to hear others comments on this. It would be awesome to have a Referral link or feature, where you get some bonus each time you get more players to play the game.
6. The map: I showed the game to a normally sighted friend of mine. He said he could see the map on the screen, where Voiceover is only reading the actual names of the locations. I'm not asking to make a map like Apples maps where you can walk around etc. But I think it would make more sense regarding to orientation, if the locations had some arrows or compass orientations, to give the player an idea about the layout of the map. I have unlocked 19 locations, and it's difficult to know how to travel to new locations, because I don't know the layout of the map. However, I'm not sure if the layout matters or not.
7. Some people have suggested some sounds in the game. However, I don't know if the game is ment to be text only and I'm not sure on how much graphics there is in the game as well, so I'm just mentioning it because I have heard other people mentioning that it would be cool.
8. Being stuck on the tutorials: I'm not sure on how to describe this, and you might already be aware about this issue:
Some people are experiencing a lot of difficulty, where they get stuck on the tutorial screen. A friend of mine who don't speak much English is stuck, because he can't continue from the tutorial screen.
I have seen an other strange thing, which people are saying is not a bug: SOme tutorials pops up automatically when navigating the screen, so it feels like you can't read the screen because of the tutorial. I find it difficult to describe what's really going on, because I'm not sure. It seems like the cursor is automatically jumping to the tutorial text, after having clicked on it to make it go away, making it difficult to read the rest of the screen. Like many other people, I managed to continue, but I think there are a few people who get confused, and don't know how to progress. It's critical if people are giving up because of this, which is the reason for I'm mentioning this.
9. Changing your equipment: There are multiple ways to change your equipments, but I don't think people are aware about the easiest way to do that, because Voiceover doesn't mention any changes when doing so:
You can change your equipments on the maps tab. If you click on the different stats, you are also changing your equipments to the stats you click on. This is very handy when doing quests, so you don't need to switch to the heros tab, use the auto equip feature and then confirm your selection. But, Voiceover doesn't give any announcements when changing your equipments from the maps tab. I don't know if anything is changed on the screen.
10. I'm experiencing an extreme battery usage when playing the game. I lock my phone when I'm not using it. When looking in battery under settings, it shows the game is using 70% of the battery. I have reset my phone a few times to hopefully fix this issue. I'll be very busy tomorrow where I don't have the time to play the game the whole day. I'll close the app to see if it'll make any changes to the extreme battery usage. I have been too addicted to the game to have the app closed for one day to check my battery ... :)
Well, I think that's all for now. feel free to say hello in the game. I'm slj in there as well.
@Aaron: Just let me know if you like to receive feedback by mail or other ways than through forums or Facebook. I could imagine it being difficult to receive feedback from multiple sources... :)
Well, back to the game to see how my quest goes... :D

Hi again.
I don't post often here on this forum. I'm not sure on how that happened, but I missed the last page before I wrote all my feedback. I clicked on the next page which for some reason didn't loaded properly the first time, so I'm sorry for all the information I missed before I posted...
I'm sorry that I didn't saw the new update and all the awesome fixes before I posted. But I think some of the feedback still is relevant. :)

I don't remember where I read it but it was stated that one of the main highlights of the game was that you could not simply buy your way to success via in game purchase, something that helped my decision to give the game a try. I will absolutely hate it if this changes and people are able to get a reward for donating to the developer, pretty much buying their way to the top of the leaderboards. I'm sure it is there to show your appreciation to the work that the developer puts into the game, as well as to help offset the cost it takes to host the developers app in the app store.

When gem cutting it actually does state that you should press the cut button when ever you hear the tone. I do agree that it was a bit confusing at first, but the latest update helps clarify the best way to have success with voice over.

Hi Nolly.
Thanks for your reply. It makes great sense. Regarding the in-app purchases: People who have donated a cup of coffee could get a donation tag to show that they have donated to the game. Then, you at leased get something. :) But that's up to Aaron of corse. It's just a suggestion.
I haven't tried gem cutting in the new version yet, but will check it out soon.
