Our biggest fears have come to fruition, the defenses of the dimensional ports have failed. An evil force has laid to waste our guards and now pours through the portals without resistance.

We've brought you here as our last chance at stopping this evil. You're one of the select few that have used the portals before, to come here for a better life, but in our darkest hour we turn to you one last time, to go back and triumph where we failed.

With our guards and roads destroyed, getting back to the portals will not be easy, as this invasion has crippled our ability to send forces en masse to clear a path. The first thing a player will notice is that an NPC's health bar often disappears and won't be read by voice over during combat. This is something that was working until Apple broke it with one of their recent IOS updates. If the developer has not already found a solution, one should be available soon, as he has been working to find a solution ever since it was reported.

The work around until then is it is always a blank space found near the NPC's name.

Having been a beta tester of this game, I can assure you that this app is fully VoiceOver accessible. That being said, there is a learning curve.

While the interface is fully accessible, the map interface may be challenging for some VoiceOver users. Due to how the maps work, I don't see any reason for this to change, but that is why I gave the interface accessibility rating as such above. As for the game itself, it is a Roguelike at heart. This means that most things from game to game are randomized. Strategies used to defeat an enemy or area boss one person used may not necessarily help another person trying to defeat the same enemy. That being said, I hope my comment here helps you make an informed decision about whether you'd enjoy this game.

When I try to create a character, a lot of things that you should be able to tap to be able to change don't seem to work. When I tried to cancel, that doesn't seem to work either. Even when I try to hit create character, that doesn't seem to work.

By Mitchell on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Make sure to hit done on the keyboard.

By Tangela on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I quite like this game. As it is, it is entirely playable. However, I think there are a few small things that could be done to improve the user experience. Implementing the magic touch gesture to announce coordinates, for example, would be very helpful, particularly after a battle, since the coordinates aren't listed on the action log. It might also be useful to put "craft" and "search" in the actions area of the vo router in their respective places of the app.

The Frost portal is an area that is elevated, meaning you can't always walk to a room from all directions.
You can portal even if you do not have orbs.
You can't die (death blow) from reflect damage, even though NPCs can.
Endurance and Wisdom equipment raise your HP and SP only if you are wearing them when you level up.
There are two pets per portal area, except the Core, in which there are three.

By Igna Triay on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

You can portal from all five areas, except the graveyard. There, you won't be able to portal to other places like that ruins orthe sewers. You will be able to portal again once you get past that area.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Forgot about the Crypt. Yes you can only portal from the Graveyard itself (Floor 17 and 18) but not from the floors higher in the Crypt portal area.

By Sean Terry on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I did hit done on the keyboard, but, the same thing as mentioned still happens.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

It sounds like you are in one of the info screens that opens when you tap things such as skills. TO get out of this you need to find the "Close index" button.

Not everything is needed to be pressed to select your character. To select your class use only the buttons found after swiping right from the edit field box. To select your pet use only the previous and next buttons. To select your profession also use their previous and next buttons. The pet and Professions that you will choose are always which ever are currently visible. There isn't a need to click on them. If you do, the above index screen will appear and you will not be able to do anything until you close it. Which is probably why you can't click cancel or confirm.

By Orinks on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Hi everyone,
So, what are the area buttons for on the map? For example, wall, Stone Path, etc? Some buttons will take me to that location, while most say I can't go that way. How do I figure out where I am and where I can go? For example, Knack told me about the Brawns key and I should search to the west. Exploring in that direction, I came to a room that teleported me to room 14 on Floor 2.
It's things like this that made me question the usability rating of the interface in my entry to this game. Other annoying things of note is during story text, one has to flick all the way to the bottom in the screen to hit the next button. King of Dragon Pass is like this too in some spots, and I wish it could be eliminated as much as possible whenever possible.
So yes, while the game may be fully playable, it's not exactly fully accessible until these things are fixed. Sean wouldn't have a problem with Character creation if it wasn't for these Motal dialogues where you can't flick around. I do commend TouchMint for his efforts, though.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Orinks, I believe you are mistaking lack of experience playing a new game with a game that isn't quite accessible/usable. Not knowing how to use something does not mean it isn't working properly with voice over, or in this case is playable but not accessible enough. I as well as many others on this site beta tested it for nearly two months, so I have to give my opinion that the game is 99% accessible and very usable, and that there isn't anything a sighted player can do that we can't do. For that matter, when index boxes are opened, they need to be closed regardless if you are sighted or blind, so this is not due to a flaw in the game that affects only blind players.

One reason you can't go in a certain direction is due to some areas having different elevations, and you need to find the correct path to get to that location. Another reason could be that you are trying to move to a room that is not directly adjacent to your characters location. You can only move North, South, West or East of the room you currently occupy. If you need to know your current location, the easiest way is to use the directional movement pad and move to another room, making sure to listen to where it announces you moved to. You can then keep going or move back to the room you originally occupied.

Every floor is a 5 by 10 grid going left to right, with numerical numbers starting from the left upper hand corner(0 - 24) to represent which room you currently occupy. As for being teleported, it's stairs you took to the next floor. There is an audible sound of several footsteps when you do so. Double clicking or searching the stairs will move you back up or down. Every stairwell is clearly labeled with the floor it will take you to for voice over users on the world map.

TouchMint delayed putting this app out for nearly two months just for us because it was not accessible enough by his standards. I become a bit frustrated when people repay his hard work by making comments that something is too hard to use or is not accessible enough without giving it a fair chance. Especially when most of these things could possibly be corrected on the users side with time and experience spent playing the game.

By Mitchell on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I always use the dirrection pad unless I want to get a map overview of the screen. Also the buttons you are seeing are what they are on the map. So, if you are on a stone path, and then move to Sewer Water, it says those two things on the screen.
I'd
I'd be happy to do a pncast but I'm not on the podcast team.
It takes time getting used to, but it is completely usable.

By Igna Triay on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Couldn't have put it better myself. And as for Orinks's comments, it is just lack of experience. It was the same for me in the beginning, when I was beta testing this app. It is not that the interface could be easier to use, because it is perfectly easy to use. It is only that you lack experience. You'll eventually understand it, but for the meantime stop complaining. I mean, for me as well as those blind people who tested this app, it was quite hard to work with it at the beginning. Since almost nothing was labeled.

By Greg Wocher on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Hello,
I am having trouble with the interface to this game. I was able to finally create my char after figuring out I had to close the info screen wich is not apparent at all. Once I started a game I cannot figure out how to move. When I am in the game and I try to flick around focus keeps jumping around to random spots. I am also having a hard time trying to find things by just exploreing the screen with my finger instead of flicking around. Eventually I can flick around to what I think is the directional pad but it is mixed in with all kinds of other things. When I do perform an action I don't hear any text spoken that something has changed or I actually did something. It may take time to figure out the interface but it could have been made a whole lot easier than what it is now.

Regards,
Greg Wocher

Hey guys just wanted to let you know I am the dev of this game and will be getting to all your questions soon. I just realized this post was here and am out the door but will try to get to everyone tonight! thanks guys

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

the main interface is broken down like this. The upper half of the screen is the world map, the lower left is character statistics, the lower right is the movement pane (compass), and the very small bottom portion of the screen is your action log. each section should be considered as separate windows and swiping out of one horizontally will place you somewhere of a similar position in another window. For example character statistics are listed in a vertical fashion, meaning if you want to see everything in order you need to slide your finger downward from the top or use the vertical navigation gesture in the router. If you use the swipe gesture it will move you to what ever is to the left or right of what is highlighted, regardless of if it is in another pane. So if you have the word "stats: in focus and swipe right you will move to the word "movement". Swiping again brings "Progress into focus swiping once again focuses on level, and swiping again a final time focuses on the "north" button in the movement pane.

The world map works similarly, except it doesn't have another window next to it, so if you swipe right or left and are the edge of the screen, it takes you to the next row. For example, if you are in the last room on the floor (very right edge), swiping right will take you one row down and focuses on the very first room underneath the row you were currently in. If you reverse this and swipe to the left of the last room on the left edge, it will move you one row up and focus on the last room of the row above where you last were.

I've seen similar interfaces like this, in fact the last time I used an IPad it uses this system in it's settings. Where it has two windows side by side and if you swipe horizonatally, it will take you out of one window and into another, which at first appears as if it is "popping" around the screen, forcing you to either swipe vertically or to slide your finger vertically along inside one of the windows to navigate properly.

I have used apps where they eliminate this issue by remaining in a window even if you swipe horizontally. This creates an entire different set of issues, as you can only navigate to a different portion of the screen by tapping it with your finger, forcing you to either use both hands or poke around hoping you tapped into the correct window you want. Some windows are even so small that people often can't click into them until multiple attempts are made. Viggle was a prime example where windows were once all separate and often impossible to get into because the area to click in was too small for voice over to register. The IPhone main screen is also a good example of this. You can't swipe left from the top left app position to get to your battery or status bar. You either have to enable vertical navigation or you have to try to click it with your finger. I can't tell you how many times I've had issues trying to find the clok because of this. Of course the IPhone main screen is much easier to use, but the main point is it is hard to have to click into a portion of the screen that is very small.

As far as it not reading things, I can't answer as this is not something I have experienced playing the game.

By Adventure To F… on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Hey guys seems like most questions have been answered by other users (thanks guys). But I will be keeping an eye on this thread now that I know its around.

While the game isnt perfect it is for sure playable and beatable. Not only that but nolly has beaten the game without a single death which I or anyone else has done.

I am making minor fixes and changes where I can for the next update to make it ever better. If you have a suggestion post it up here and I will give you feedback and add it to my list.

Thanks everyone for supporting me!

By Orinks on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Hi everyone,
Sorry for the comment above. How do I enable virtacle navigation in VoiceOver? It's obviously apparent that flicking really isn't an option in this game for knowing where you are. I'll try these techniques as I can't even find the first objective of the game.

By DMNagel on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Hi all. This sounds like it is a great game, but i will need your help on making the decision to buy the game or to leave it. Let's be honest and let's not dance around the bushes. Let's start with my own issues. I am not a very patient man, nore am i a rocket scientist. When i play a game, i like things to progress fairly quickly. I don't like games that have the potential to come to a complete stand-still, just because i don't know what to do or where to go. I am a great Choice of games LLC fan, because their games are designed in such a way that no matter how cocker mania your decisions are, the story will always progress, for better or worse. Secondly, there is a hole 59.99 south african bucks at stake. I do not wish to pay that for something that may end up hanging, just because of puzzle issues. What i'm asking is simple. If this game have hard puzzles and requires allot of patients, please tell me so i can leave it. If this game is a fast progressing game with no hard puzzles, please say so. Then i also will support the dev. Thanks in advance.

By Igna Triay on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

This game does not have puzzles. Basically, you will only need patients with exploring the areas, though it is fairly easy to encounter objects and battles. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

By DMNagel on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I'll take your word for it and try it out then.

By Adventure To F… on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Here is a starter guide created by nolly for those getting started with the game.

Once you create a character you will be placed into the world (after a short delay for loading)

When you begin the game you are in the center of a 5 by 5 grid map, or floor 1. To the north of you is a locked door to floor 4, to the west is a stairwell to floor 2, and to the east a stairwell to floor 3. There is nothing of exception here but it is a good room to look through the graphical world map and see the layout I described. It is an open room with no hallways/tunnels/elevations, so you can walk around without hinderence.

The double footsteps sound you hear is your character going up or down stairs, so when you hear this sound you have gone up or down a level. To go back search the stairs again. You will know a stairwell by the description "To floor XX" on the map, where XX represents the floor (number)it takes you to. There is an exception to this which I will explain in better detail later in this post and that is that there are grates or holes in which you can only proceed one direction (downward). Be sure before you read on you have vertical navigation set in your router as I will go over how to use it in detail.

Part 1: Find the key
You start the game in room 12 of floor 1. First off you need to find a key to open the door to the north. I won't tell you exactly where the key is, but I will say it is on floor 2. Findroom 12 on the map and swipe left to highlight room 11, and then double click the room. This should take you one room closer to the stairwell to floor 1. Keep walking until you find the stairwell, it should take you to floor 2 as soon as you step onto it. You should now be on floor 2 room 14. Move around this area to find the key to unlock the door to floor 4. Once you have done so take the stairwell back to floor 1 and find room 12, the room you originally started from.

Part 2: Enter the Sewers
Now that you have found the key and are standing back on room 12 of floor 1, walk northward until a tone and dialogue box pops up telling you that you need a key. Dismiss this notification and take another step northward. Another box will appear informing you that you used your key. Dismiss this as well. You should now be standing in the Sewers room 22 floor 4. Take a moment to look around the map with your finger. You will notice that there is sewer water directly ahead of you but that the north, west and eastern edges have apath. That path is elevated and can not be accessed except from one direction. Think of it like a catwalk or tunnel.

Part3: First combat
Now that you have taken a look around the map at what floor 4 looks like, take a step northward to room 17. You should automatically be drawn into battle. A dialogue help box will appear, find the done button three quarters of the way down the screen and click it. The battle screen is divided into several parts. The upper quarter is taken up by NPCs, the upper middle quarter player and pet stats, the lower middle quarter with skills and potions, and the very last bottom quarter is your action log. I won't lie and say the battle interface is super easy to navigate for new users, but it is very easy once you understand what you are looking at.
It is important to understand that it is best to use the horizontal swipe gesture for combat, as things are mostly layed out horizontally, at least it is with voice over. Take some time to swipe around the screen to learn where certain things are located and how best to get to them.

To attack first touch your finger on the screen about one thirdn from the bottom until you either find your skills or potions. If you find your potions, swipe left until you find your skills. Double tap one of your offense skills, (It should repeat the skill to you) and then tap about a quarter down from your camera at the top of the screen. Now swipe right and you will notice it will start to read you a few things such as "NPC 3", the name of an NPC, and your character name without a percentage. To attack find the NPC name with a percentage bar (for best results) and double tap it. Otherwise find the word "NPC1 and do the same. I will warn you though, there is a known bug where an NPC % bar will not be read by voice over. This is a bug that appeared when Apple last updated their IOS and TouchMint is/has been working on it. If thi happens simply look for the blank space or the word "NPC 1/2/3". Continue to attack when your turn comes up until you are victorious. Collect your rewarad by pressing "Pick up items". It is not necessary to look at anything else in this screen as it is easier to inspect your loot in more detail in your inventory.

Part 4: Explore the Sewers
Now that you have hopefully survived your first combat it is time to explore. You will notice you are now standing in sewer water, this room with sewer water can only be exited by leaving eastward from room 8 to the stone path room 9. Make your waay south from room 9, battle the two NPCs then make your way back north to room 4. Keep in mind you will encounter enemies along the way. Once you are at room 4 make your way westward to room 0. Remember to search each room by double clicking the space or pressing the search button in your movement pane. Before moving on from room 0I should warn you that the way down to floor 5 is a sewer grate, and is a one way drop. It isn't anything to concern yourself with as you can go into the bottom of your skillbook and portal back up to floor 3 at anytime, regardless if you have orbs or not. Now continue on south (remember to search) to room 15 which is the grate to floor 5. It will automatically drop you into floor 5 room 15. Take a look again at the world map and you will see that this floor is primarily tunnels leading to stairwells to other floors. From this point on it is fairly straight forward as you can only go in a straight line down which ever tunnel you are currently taking.

The map can be easier navigated if you use both vertical and horizontal navigation. This eliminates the need to constantly touch around the screen hoping you highlighted the correct room to search in, especially since you can only walk North, south, east or west of the room your character currently resides in. It is also a good way to scout the floor before moving your character, since you will be moving in the same pattern as you swipe.

This was a basic description of how to get to floor 5 from the starter point. I can go into more detail if there are things in between that you or anyone else is having issues with, but I will not post direct spoilers in the forum. I will drect those questions to private messages to not diminish the game for others. This includes the pets currently in the game, as I have memorized directions to each one.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I will be honest, there will be one area in particular that is not a cake walk, but from what I hear sighted players also have issues with it. This doesn't mean the game doesn't progress quickly, but this floor is more than likely to cause frustration. However, I as many of the players here know the Frost area very well, and can give you pointers if you get stuck. Of course if you do try the game I am sure you will want to try it without help, but help is always there if needed.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I am writing this with the assumption that verticle navigation is not enabled and anyone reading this has knowledge of the router function. To enable vertical navigation you must do this through the voice over settings on the IPhone.

First open settings, find general, then accessibility. Once this is open open voice over and find the router. In router find the "Verticle navigation" option and make sure it is selected.

Now that it is on or has been confirmed that it is on, use the router (like turning a knob on a radio) until you find verticle navigation. Now when you swipe up or down, you can move one place north or south of where you were on the map, similar to how you move a chess piece on a chess board.

Hello,

I'm stuck at level in hell core lava platform :(
I found floor 45 but after i have only lava flow and i don't go to shrouded lair or floor 47 because i died again and again in lava flow :( i don't understand what to do for go.

Can you help me please ?
Thank,
Sabine G.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Give me a minute to load up that floor and I will help you.

This is a tiny spoiler, but nothing major as it can easily be discovered after a few attempts.

Okay this is the floor with two hidden platforms. Room 11 and room 4 say lava flow, but they are hidden invisible platforms. Crossing from these two rooms will enable you to get to the final boss. Good luck.

For anyone interested, the developer has publicly posted a code to unlock the Infinite Arena at character creation on the AudioGames.net forums. I have not posted it here for obvious reasons, but it is easy enough to find by visiting the audioGames.net forums.

By DMNagel on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

Just to get a free feel for these type of games, i tried battle arena first and i am glad i did. I found it so confusing, that i can't even begin to explain my own troubles. Thanks to those who offered help, but i think i will just let this one go by.

By Adventure To F… on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

In reply to by Nolly

Feel free to post that wherever it helps!

To unlock the infinity arena when you start the game simply go to character creation and type AudioGames (cap A and cap G). then select the ranger and it will unlock the infinity arena from the start. You can go about renaming your character and choosing a different class if you want too once its unlocked. Keep in mind you will have to do this for each character you create if you want to go right to the endless arena.

The infinity arena just allows you to battle whatever monsters you want from the game all in the same place so you dont have to worry about navigating.

By Jesse Anderson on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I downloaded this game the other day, and had a chance to play some last night. I am a low vision user, but use VoiceOver for most text-based content. Even though this game is graphical, there is a lot of text information presented, like status meters, the action log at the bottom, etc. I find playing with VoiceOver to be pretty helpful.

As a low vision user who also understands VoiceOver, I can understand where the interface can be confusing for some users. There are times when VoiceOver doesn't work with the interface the way I'd expect it to. I can also immediately think of some solutions that may help make the interface more understandable. They are kind of hard to explain, so I think I'll create a video to demonstrate the issues I found, to share with the developer. The interface is definitely accessible, but could be a little more efficient.

By Paul Martin on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

I played this most of the way through it, and really enjoyed it thus far. There are a couple things that could use a bit of work:
When in the battles, you can't review the action logs by lines. You can oddly enough achieve this when exploring. The main reason for this being an issue is the speed at which actions from attackers can happen, making the voiceover user have to sit through old news as it were to get to what just happened should things get too hectic before it's the player's turn once again.
On the way of lines, there's these tips that flash across the screen. Sometimes I can get them to be read, but only if I'm not touching the screen once they disappear, and further remember where they come in. Though I wouldn't say this was a big a deal as the router line review thing, those tips are still handy for players who haven't had much experience with this kind of game.
As a note unrelated to the game though' I can't find @ventureToFate mentioned in the actual entry.

The battle log is something I brought up during testing. I suggested that the log be read in reverse order from how it is current read now, eliminating the need to sift through actions that happened several rounds ago.

While I don't know if the battle log has changed, TouchMint has announced an update he plans to submit this coming week. Nothing specific was mentioned except the addition of two new pets. One which can be unlocked after game completion and the other after completion of the game without any deaths.

It's been over a month since he originally submitted version 1.0, so I am expecting several changes and enhancements.

Hi. I'm stuck on floor 11. I am able to get to floor 16 from there and fight the monsters there, but I do not see how to get to floor 17, since it is blocked off b walls and floor 16 does not have a stairway to it that I can see. I also had a sighted person try to get there, and they could not find the exit either.

By Mitchell on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

You need to go to floor 16 to get a key that you can us later. After that, you waq to make it to floor 13 and then to floor 12. Let me know if you need any more help.

By Nolly on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - 12:51

The floor you are speaking of is a floor with no exit. It has nothing of exception, except a few things to search for. As Mitch said above you must find the other stairwell to floor 12 on floor 11.

Hello. So I have found ten of the pets but can't seem to find the second frost area pet. I found the mindless walker but can't find the other pet. Can I get some help please

By Sabrina on Thursday, November 23, 2017 - 12:51

I just got this game a couple of days ago and it is awesome. It is fully playable and is also very nice. I have some problem with the battles but I just need to be able to learn this but I am going to learn after a while.

By Sabrina on Thursday, November 23, 2017 - 12:51

I have a question. Is this game better on the iPhone or iPad? The iPad has bigger screen but since it is cumbersome to actually hold the iPad in portrait mode it may be a little hard. Where do you play this? Also, I cannot seem to be able to get to floor five from floor four. Thanks for all the help.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, November 23, 2017 - 12:51

Its better on the iPhone, you can locate where things are on the screen by touch alone, it takes time though

By DrummerGuy on Thursday, November 23, 2017 - 12:51

I have never been able to figure out this game. I don't even know how to even start it. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I have followed every instruction but, unfortunately, I am not able to start the game.

By Sabrina on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 12:51

I can do battles now but the thing is that VoiceOver interupts when it is supposed to tell me what my oponent does. I often hear something like A sewage leech casts... and then I don’t hear the rest. And I think it is a bit tricky to read all of the chat log each time someone does anything. Is there an easier way? Am I missing something?

By Igna Triay on Saturday, December 23, 2017 - 12:51

In battles, I don't pay attention to the attacks the opponents cast always, sometimes only to the damage. I don't know about an easier way though

By Sabrina on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 12:51

Hello.
I just started looking into this game.
I love it more and more.
I have a problem where I cannot get to floor five and I stand right before where it says to floor five and then I tap floor five and for some reason this says I cannot go that way.
It may be because I am not very good at this because I have had it for some time and started with it again yesterday.

By Sabrina on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 12:51

Guess what? I finally managed to get to floor five. I am good at dying. I reached the first boss and he has killed me thrice. I think I will have to level up a bit to be able to actually kill him. He is strong.
I am a priestess named Erisa.

Can anyone give me all pet locations?
Can’t find them all
