You need a certain item, although I can't remember which item it is. Try doing missions or check out the trade post.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

If I remember correctly it can be purchased at the trading post in Tarrock.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Eventually it will tell you that there is no more info to be gained. There are different towns with different inns which will eventually help you to unlock more paths.

By Frost on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Hey Will, are you running iOS 10? I'm also stuck where you are stuck and none of the buttons work. If I double-tap on the tabs below, it won't activate. I triple checked, and I didn't have any pop-ups open, but it still won't work. I even closed the app, and opened it back up to see if it would fix the problem, but it didn't.
I was wondering if running iOS 10 is the problem. Thank you.

i run ios 11 the latest version, but for me it isn't clear when new options are available. i still like the game though.

I believe you are at the point that you need the chest to unlock and travel to the Tarrock grasslands. The issue is that it's tricky to get the option to unlock and travel to pop up. It says disabled, but you need to click it anyway then tap onto the screen to see the unlock and travel option. I had to click on the option several times to get the option to come up. Also it's best to tap as well as swipe when trying to do things in this game. Even with this knowledge there are still going to be parts where it's a little confusing, like when it tells you to move on. When this happens I believe you have to travel on to progress, again tapping where it says disabled when it really should say unlock.

Also, don't immediately head to the grasslands. Stay at the farm and collect int gear from doing the convincing quest. It will raise your chance at succeeding in the grassland quest.

I started playing this game yesterday and I have to say that I am enjoying it. It is very calming. The only doubt that I have is about the mini games. Maybe the developer can do something to make that section accessible. My name in the game is Quasar. If you find me, don't hesitate to say hello. LOL.
Cheers.

I am thoroughly enjoying playing this great game! Looking forward to continueing the story! Keep up the great work!

My hero name is Denzil. I would like to know wich apple vis hero names to look out for at the campfire.

By Ray Rucker on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

My hero name is Alexia.

By JTran2013 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

My hero name for this game is JoAnn.

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

You need a bag of potatoes to unlock the path. If I remember there is an unlock and travel button at the way bottom right next to the tabs.

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

The small chest is for the dungeon. I believe you must complete a quest to get that chest.

never think about Turkish players... racism everywhere

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Ok. So you actually have to buy the small chest at the trading post before you can travel. Then the unlock and travel button will be undimmed.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I am very confident that it does not have anything to do with racism as you say, queen. Yes, I understand that in Turkey this game costs 34 turkish lira's but, how much do you think it cost in Mexico? Let's see… It is approximately between 17 and 19 pesos per dollar. Now, If we multiply 19 times 4 (it is just an estimation), Gives us a total of 76 pesos. Like I said, it has nothing to do with racism, my friend.

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

um, is this conversation necessary?

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I'm not sure whether law researching and gem cutting is absolutely necessary, or weather they are just for fun. If they are just for fun, it would not be too bad. However if they are necessary, it might become a true show stopper at some point. That's why I am currently holding off on purchasing chapters.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I think they are necessary in order to get new items, etc. At least, that is what I understand. I think we need to contact the developer and see if he can make this section available for VO users. The game is really neat, Though.

By Aaron Vernon on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Hi everyone, my name is Aaron and I am the creator of Land of Livia.

I have periodically received positive feedback about the accessibility of the game but it is great to see it posted here and discussed!

I am currently working on a UI update for the game and was going to update the accessibility at the same time based on the best practices from Apple but given the influx of new users from this listing I am going to move that work forward.

I think there are lots of ways that the game can be made even more accessible and I plan to do them. As mentioned here already, the mini games (gem cutting and lore researching) are definitely the least accessible and will be the most challenging to update. They also do become necessary later in the game.

Keep the feedback coming here and directly to me at landoflivia@gmail.com and stay tuned for updates and further discussion :)

Cheers

Aaron

I have realised that everything in the mini game is perfectly labelled. The problem however, is that we cannot see the colours of the rune positions. My suggestion is quite simple. Once a guess has been made, you could place text next to the rune position labels. If position 2 of square 1 were correct, it should say 2 red, since red is the Colour that indicates that the rune is in its right position. As for gem cutting, i don't know. It sounds much more tricky.

Good point, that would be relatively easy :)

For Gem Cutting I think there need to be an audio cue for when you should perform the cut - do you think that could work?

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Yeah. That would work. Maybe some sort of beep or something.

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Reading the help and fAQ, I have found out that the gem cutting and stuff is necessary for later levels. I hope that they can fix this.

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I got the bag of potatoes and made it to Tarrrock and got the small chest from the trading post. Now it is saying I need to go to the grasslands, but tapping on that location does not bring up a pop-up to travel or even a pop up saying the path is locked. I have tried double tapping triple tapping and tapping and holding and even turning off voiceover and single tapping on grasslands. I just cannot get there.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Jessica to get to the grasslands can be tricky as I mentioned earlier. To get it to work for me I had to click the '"dungeon disabled" button and from there had to do one of several things. Three finger swipe, turning on and off voice over, and even closing out the app entirely in the app switcher to be able to see the unlock travel option.

It does get better, but you will occasionally get one area which will give you problems. An example of this is the Shipyard. I had to close the app in order to get the travel option to come up. I can't really say what causes it, but I've never found a place that was impossible to get to after trying the methods above.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Now that we have this out of the way, all that is needed is the implementation. I can't wait to see this implemented. Once it is, I will most certainly purchase the other chapters. For now however, I will wait patiently for the update. Thanks in advance.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

You guys could try double tapping with one finger on the button to the left of grasslands and immediately go and check where the message that says the path is locked usually appears and, if you find something that says travel, even though it is locked, you should be able to go to the intended destination as long as you have the bag of potatoes. If that does not work, go back to the Solomons farm and convince him to help you. Attempt this quest a few times and then travel to the grasslands. Just to give you a heads up, when you get a message that says that you have reached a new level, sometimes the game becomes unresponsive and you have to close it and reopen it again. Once you are back into the game you are good to go. Remember, try going back to the farm and travel from there to the grasslands. I hope that helps. It worked when I did it. Cheers.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Let's all contact the developer of this game. If he sees that many players contact him to ask him to make The mini games and the lore items accessible, he might do it very soon or, At least, let us know if it can be done. Let's invite him to our community so that he can get lots of feedback from all of us. I am pretty sure that when he finds out that we are very interested in his game, he will want to make all of the game accessible for VoiceOver users.
Cheers.

By DrummerGuy on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

LOL. Now I feel like a fool. I didn't see those messages and here I was thinking that we should contact the developer when he's already here. Oh, well… That's what I get for not checking twice or even three times. Anyways, I sent him an email inviting him to our community because I didn't know that he was already here. Seriously, though, I am really happy that he is here and that an update will come soon. This is awesome, guys.
Keep on playing.
Cheers.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Places that are labelled dungeon btn are places where you can do quests. Places that are labelled town btn are towns with inns and shops. That's how it looks like to me so far. I'm at level eight.

By tunmi13 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Hi,
If anyone wants me to be part of their campfire, can post the ID here and i'll join.

By Ravenpaw on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I've only been playing this game for two days, but I'm already pretty impressed over its current accessibility state. Apart from a few unlabelled buttons--the ones you use to track your stats and auto-equip based on quest categories, game elements are pretty easy to navigate. There's a small glitch I've been noticing that hasn't been mentioned yet, and I was wondering if others had been experiencing it as well. The pop-up that appears after you complete quests lists details about whatever items you managed to loot, but the short blurb about the item's background history--at least I'm assuming that's what it's supposed to be--is always about a mighty axe and never about the thing you just got.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

The campfire is a chat room, so just drop a message in the campfire and everyone playing the game will see your message. Yes I have noticed the glitch as well.

By Bellsfurmama on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I’m excited to hear about another accessible game! Do you get to build at all with this? It isn’t like an old-fashioned text-adventure where you have to type commands is it? I am terrible with those. Lol.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I believe they were talking about joining a particular campfire. I am in the campfire ID: h3hyIH. I believe Alexia is there as well. The ID only seemed to work if you typed it in exactly as it is typed )cap sensitive).

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

My campfire ID is GB8eXw and I found a couple other Applevis users in there with me. My hero name is Vape lord

I am Quasar. Have you been able to find one of the legendary items yet?

By JTran2013 on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

My camp fire ID is 2Nq2H9. Looking forward to chatting and helping with the game! My hero name is JoAnn.

By vulcansummer on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I double tap on the Town button but nothing happens. What should I do? Thanks for any help.

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Yes I remember talking to you in the campfire earlier today. No I have not found a legendary item yet but I have heard of one at one of the inns and I wasted five lore items trying to unlock it.

By Jessica Brown on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Read some of the first comments in this thread. It should help you.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

I will wait until the mini game is accessible. By then I will have many items to play with.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Fortunately there are auto equip options that are accessible under the hero tab. Thanks for those.

Should you not be so familiar with the type of quest that you will be doing, take the time to read the text in order to equip accordingly in order to get better results. If it is a strength quest, equip your inventory for that task. The same should be done with an intelligence quest, Etc. Try not to get rid of that starred items. If your inventory gets full, sell the weakest items so that you can make room in your inventory and always use The highest of the items. I hope that helps for all those who are starting the game.

By DMNagel on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

You might wanna purchase real estate items in order to carry more gold. It will be sad for example, if you do a 400 gold quest and can only carry 200 gold. The rest of the gold will be lost if you do not have enough storage.

By Nolly on Friday, February 23, 2018 - 09:29

Does anyone know if you need to unlock all journal entries for a legendary item to drop, or is the original entry alone okay, just making the odds lower.
