Podcast Review
Hi Thomas,
Thank you for taking the time to review Weather Gods and for producing such an informative review.
You raised a few questions which I can give some answers to:
- worldwide locations; yes the notifications are available worldwide, we haven't tested everywhere, but we've switched on notifications for places in China, India, Russia, Europe and we regularly test with the Antarctic for snow and frost notifications :) We are also in the process of localising the app for many countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China and Russia
- Follow Me should be possible without too much development effort and I will add that to our list of upcoming features
- The weekly summary for the weather - I was just talking about this in email today with Kevin Utter!
- Notifications without closing the app, I'm working on it and have been in touch with Apple for advice as to how we might achieve it. I did look at background refresh but a force close of the app can kill that one as well. However, your suggestion of always on location services is a good one, and that might be the way forward. It will fit in well with the 'Follow Me' mode as well.
Awesome
Thank you Thomas for this good walkthrough. This app sounds like something I need to get, pun totally intended. I just hope my financial situation will afford me that opportunity. Apple's native iOS weather works very well, but how cool would it be to actually hear the weather! We here in Chicago and the surrounding burbs are starting to experience cold temps. Update: I recently obtained this app using an iTunes gift card. Thanks to the devs for creating such a fine app. Everything is working well for me thus far. Love the sounds and notifications.
Great review!
I just bought the app last night, have wanted it for months but was unable to get it. I'm really looking forward to playing with it. I love that now there is a notification for severe weather.

I have it and like it so much. Like that you get respond from Scott ASAP and he listen to suggestions. I do not even use the app that came from the iPhone or use another. It is my weather app.
