ConvertKit With Voiceover; Creating a Signup Form

I have included information about a podcast i just released for my podcast. It is my hope i can help you learn how to use some of the tools i'm learning to use. You can listen to the audio version of this podcast at the bottom of this post, as the podcast brands me, i didn't know if it would be able to be directly submitted to this site. In this demonstration, I start out logged into my ConvertKit account. You hear me click on the link at the top of the page titled "forms". And today we're going to create a sign-up form for people who are interested in the Friday interviews that are available on the your own pay podcast. Monday's people will receive a recap of the previous Friday’s content. Tuesday they'll get content that summarizes everything we posted on the blog the past week as a your own pay podcast club waiting list member. Wednesday morning, people Will receive a heads up on what to expect that coming Friday. When you listen to today's podcast you hear how easy it is to create a ConvertKit page. There are some more advanced options that are available to you based on some of the settings you can set while creating your pages… It's even possible to send a customized welcome email to people depending on where they sign up. I'm really excited about this type of technology, because it automates but still allows a personal touch. When on the forms page of ConvertKit, using heading navigation the first thing you hear is "subscribers". The subscribers heading isn't the heading were looking for today, so using the heading navigation again you find the forms heading. In the demonstration I use the voice over keys plus right arrow to find the link titled " Plus create form". Click that link and the first page of creating a new form wizard will load, continue following the directions. On this page we are asked how we want to gather subscribers, you can verify this by using your heading navigation. As of the time of recording this, there are two options, a landing page or a form. A landing page can be hosted on the ConvertKit servers, or on your own WordPress site with a plug-in. Landing pages typically include more information about what the person is going to receive for the email address. A form, the second option in The screen is simply that. When you go through the process to create the form, you'll receive The ability to let people know what they'll receive, however this is more aimed at being able to embed into social media sites and your website. Using the word press plug-in for ConvertKit, future content coming on how to set it up, you'll be able to add a signature to your blog post that include a sign-up form so users never have to hunt for how to join your list. When you make a selection, in today's demonstration I choose a landing page, the menu dynamically update and voiceover does not notify you. However, using the keystroke voiceover keys plus command, plus shift, plus age, yo hear that the heading has changed to "all right, we are making a landing page. Which template would you like to start with?" When you use your voice over key with the right arrow key, you're presented with four different templates. The four templates available are single column landing page, sidebar landing page, sliding a landing page, and words landing page. I don't have experience with any of these landing pages, so I can't tell you the difference between them. In the demonstration I chose to work with the "words" template for this landing page. I selected that option and the next page loaded. This is the page where we can edit the landing page text, the way the page looks, and even the settings. If you use heading navigation on this page, the first heading you come to will say "untitled". This is because we haven't provided a title for this page, and that heading identifies what page are working with. One of the primary reasons why I am excited to work with this platform is that they seem to care about usability which happens to in most cases provide better excess ability for all users. In order to name this page, we need to find the settings. From the untitled heading, use your voice over key and press the right arrow key. You'll hear a few different options, look for the link that's titled "settings." Click on the Settings link, and let's set a title for this page. There are some other settings I won't review in today's podcast, however if this platform interest you let me know After you update the title of the page, don't forget to click the save button found at the bottom. On the next page when you use heading navigation, you'll notice that the first heading you come to now is what the title you gave the page is. Let's modify the content of this page now by using the voice over cursors and right arrow keys until we find the "content" link. On the content page, when using heading navigation from the top of the page you'll first hear the title of the page you just provided in settings. A second use of the heading navigation keystroke at least in Safari on OS X will prompt you to enter a catchy headline. Press the voiceover keys plus space in order to select this section, select all text with command plus a, and type in your catchy heading. Using voice over keys plus right arrow will take you to the next section, where you can press voiceover keys plus the in order to edit that text. Note, pressing tab will also take you to the next edit box that you can modify. After you have updated all sections of the page, find the "save" button at the top of the page. Once the page has been saved you can find V "view" link under the heading with the title of your page. Copy the URL that is in your address bar to share that page with people who are interested in taking a look at it, or bring it into your own site by using either embed code or the WordPress plug-in.
