Is TactileView bad with latex or is it me?

So I have a PIAF.
Desmos graphs are I guess okay better than nothing, but I thought why not try out TactileView to produce graph.
I tried two random equations by selecting latex as math input.
y=4x^3-5x^2+3x-3
and
\lim_{x\to 4} \frac{3x^2+3x+2}{x^2+2x+1}
I just wanted to get a non boring graph.
But somehow each time tactileview tells me that there is a syntax error in my math input. It hinted me to write 3*x instead of 3x for example, which I did but same result. I don't want to install mathtype cause latex is the only thing I know anyway.
Is this tactileview that parses it so badly? Not good given it costs roughly like cad$800 with tax.
Any help or resource to get help would be appreciated.
