Just wondering if anyone knows of any NVDA addons to make the trackpad halfway useable with NVDA, something that would give us similar features to what is available on Mac OS with Trackpad Commander. I normally just turn the trackpad off in Windows so it's not accidentally getting touched and moving me who knows where? But it would be cool not to have to shut it off, but to actually have access to some features that would make it useful.

I would redirect you towards following reddit post of mine

You could get various touchpad jestures to do whatever you want, even make it behave differently based on what application is in focus.
Hope this helps.
Easy Navigation. . .
Not sure about the track pad, but will keep an eye out for ya. There is a QuickNav with the arrows similar to QuickNav for macOS, and is super handy, but again not sure about the track pad.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I don't know how I would use something like quicknav with NVDA since we don't have to hold down an NVDA key for a lot of web navigation. But I do think the idea of an addon that would make the trackpad actually work for us would be sweet. Basically enabling nvda touch commands, which we would use on the touch screen, also work on the trackpad.
Re: Easy Navigation
Agreed it may not be a necessity on Windows, but I do find it convenient at times. It works a tiny bit different than on Mac, but goes like this:
1. Press Shift plus Backspace to toggle on/off.
2. Press Left Arrow/Right Arrow to navigate between -- Headings, Links, Unvisited Links, Visited Links, Form Fields, Buttons, Edit Fields, Check boxes, Combo Boxes, Radio Buttons, Images, Lists, List Items, Tables, Frames, Articles, Landmarks, Seperators, Quotes, Objects, Text Blocks, Searches, and Lines.
3. Press Up Arrow/Down Arrow to navigate by your choice above, i.e. if you chose Headings, pressing Up and Down would go between Next and Previous Heading respectively.
You can of course choose what items you want access to, and if you want to switch functionality between left/right arrow versus up/down arrow.
My favorite function with this is the "Searches" function. Instead of Control plus NVDA plus 'f', set Easy Nav to "Searches" and just press up or down arrow. π
I will definitely keep a lookout for something for the trackpad, as I am always scouring the interwebs for NVDA add-ons. π

Now that you explained it like that, I can see how it could be of use. Thanks for the clarification.
