iTunes problem backing up apps on iPhone

I'm running iTunes 11 for Windows and I have an iPhone 5C with iOS 7.0.4. In iTunes I went to the file menue, devices menu, and clicked back up. I got a message telling me that my apps weren't in my iTunes library and asking me if I'd like to back them up. When I clicked the back up apps button, after a short pause, it made the sound like it was done, but nothing happened. The apps were still not in my library and after I did a search of my entire computer including my external hard drive, the apps weren't anywhere on my computer either. How do I get my apps that I purchased on my phone on to my computer and into my iTunes library?

hmmm hi Josh give to them a longer time depend the number of apps the you need to transfer I know but it's not to possible but.. did you authorize the PC using your apple ID? or did you purchase those apps under the same apple ID? try doing this under the devices sorces Josh iPhone 5C press the application key using erows key down or up select #1 Transfer purchase #2 sync and lasly #3 back up maybe you need to transfer the apps before to do back up you can see the progress using Tab + Shift or directly on the iPhone settings// general// iTunes Wi Fi sync go to the buttom and you can see the transfers progress

Just go to file then transfer purchases then the purchases will transfer you should see them on you're computer.

Have you tried downloading purchased items from iTunes? If you load iTunes, and go to the store page, you will find a link for "Purchased." From that page, you can download apps you have previously purchased using your Apple ID. There's a tab for apps, as well as all the other media types. That will definitely get your apps in your iTunes library.
I finally got it figured out. I decided to give Apple Accessibility a call, and they told me that I needed to be signed into the iTunes store on my computer in order for Transfer Purchases in the File menu to work. I signed in, authorized my computer, and it finally worked! Thanks to everyone who posted. For whatever reason, iTunes wasn't giving me any kind of message about needing to be signed in. It was just making the sound like it was done, but it wasn't doing anything. iTunes stinks with JAWS!

iTunes and JAWS have come a long way. If you think it stinks now... Anyway, give it some time. There are lots of good sources information available on using iTunes with JAWS. Jonathon Mosen did some stuff for the FSCast podcast that is great, and there are some good podcasts here too. You can find some scripts for use with JAWS that many people like too. Glad you got it working.
Where do I get JAWS scripts for iTunes? Could you please give me some links? Anything that can make iTunes easier to use until I get a Mac would be great!

Josh, Using iTunes with JAWS is not too bad...the tab and shift-tab keystrokes are your best friend. If you want scripts for iTunes, John Martin with DoItBlind.com has developed and sells a set of iTunes scripts for JAWS called BlindTunes. More information is available at www.BlindTunes.net.
