Hi everyone, Jessica from Be My Eyes here.
As a part of global accessibility awareness day, we put out a new update for the Be My Eyes app for Windows that is completely rebuild from the ground up. Along with giving us a better base to build amazing new features for desktop in the near future, this new app also fixes a lot of the accessibility issues that people have reported over the last 1.5 or so years.
In addition Chat History is now also available on Desktop, so you can start a conversation from mobile and continue it on desktop (and vice versa).
The Be My Eyes Windows app can be downloaded here through the Microsoft Store
I would love to hear your feedback. Anything that is amazing. Anything you dislike. Something not working as expected? Let me/us know.

Any updates?
Is anyone having an easier time logging in? Still having difficulty on my end.
There was an app update,…
There was an app update, sadly, no changes here.
I still can't sign in with my Apple account.

be my eyes it doesn't work on windows when you open it a message comes out we found multiple installations and standalone and one from microsoft store but i only have the one from microsoft store. I uninstalled it put it on again and same message.
Uninstall one of the applications to avoid conflicts. Anyone with the same problem?
Same problem as previous poster
I have exactly the same problem as the previous poster. The app won't start, displays a message about multiple installations even though I only have the Microsoft Store version (I didn't even know there was a standalone one). I checked for updates in the Microsoft Store, but the version I've got is from today.
regarding the installer
That installer is what you would call an installer stub.
All it does is redirect you to the version on the microsoft store.
New version out, fixes the problem
There is a new version in the Microsoft Store that fixes the problem.
I found that when I open an image file directly with Be My Eyes
Hello,
When I go to an image file in my folder and open it with Be My Eyes, I still get an error because the program doesn't provide any descriptions for the image.
What I can do is to go back to the home screen and upload the image file to the program instead, and then I can get the descriptions.
@ Be My Eyes, if you are listening
You guys have an opportunity to make this our default file viewer app if you can make it work reliablly.
Rather than using Windows Photo viewer, I can just set BME to oepn images if it gives me a decent viewing experience, and provides descriptions reliablly, something like Seeing AI's accessible photo galary feature on iPhone. However, those crashes and small bugs need to be ironed out.
I hope your desktop apps receive the attention they deserve. I am already drifting towards NVDA's AI Content describer addon as is.
@SeasonKing
The old version use to do that.
I haven't played much with this version, but yeah I hear you when it comes to AI contents describer.
There's a few addons now that do the same, if not similar.
Cloud Vision is another one.
I tend to go with what's kept up to date.
