Hi all,
Has anyone used the separate Apple apps (Apple Music, Apple Devices, Apple TV) for Windows? If so, are they accessible with NVDA?
I'm thinking of replacing iTunes with the separate Apple apps that were found in the Microsoft Store, but not sure about their accessibility with NVDA compared to iTunes.

Can't say for NVDA but using JAWS they are fine. So, NVDA should work I would have thought.
Apple music is not great.
I switched from an older version of itunes to new apple music a few months ago. Apple music is useable, but far from a good experience with NVDA. In some ways it's better than ITunes. But:
1. In order to click on a song in a playlist, I either have to route the mouse, or use the applications key and hit play song from the context menu.
2. The rewind and fast forward keyboard shortcuts move by an insanely small amount of time. Seeking through a song is painful.
I keep checking the add on store hoping to find something to make the experience better..

They're usable with NVDA, but there's a lot of tabbing and arrowing around. In iTunes, you can easily get to the search field with Ctrl + F; with these apps, you have to tab and shift-tab to get around. I switched to them full-time because, by the time iTunes loads on my PC, you can probably do what you need to do in these newer apps. Now, if we could get a podcasts app, we should be set. Although, Grover on Windows seems to do a decent job for that.

I will smile in the very unlikely event of getting the apple books app. But yes, I don't know why I would do that now as I have a mac, but these apps are indeed nice, although I heard that older devices aren't supported like the ipod 3. They work fine for my usecase with NVDA and I never felt the need to try with JAWS.

Yes, a separate app for books is also needed, but windows also has many apps that can read books, provided they don't contain DRM.

Is it possible to install these 3 apps without signing in to a Microsoft Account? I'd like to try them in a Windows 11 virtual machine that I have set up but I do not want to link my Microsoft account to my virtual machine.

You install them from the Microsoft store app. You don't have to link an account for that, I don't think. You do have to be signed in, but does that link?

I didn't know rewind and fast forward, so I looked up the keyboard shortcuts. You can't hit a single key combination to get to search, but there's a faster way than tabbing, at least.
